The True Origins of Natsu Dragneel

Time Skip: Chapter 28

Time Skip December 29th

Magnolia was unusually quiet, the man walked down the familiar streets that he grew up in, he remembered the stores that use to be packed with people but were now empty. The once perfect and cleaned concrete was now ruined and cracked. The man was wearing a black cloak which covered his left side of his body including his left arm, underneath his cloak he wore a black shirt with a black vest over him covering the rest of his body , his pants were white and baggy which made it easier to fight in. The man walked down the familiar path that he use to walk down everyday when he wanted to see his friends and family. He looked up the enormous guild that looks...abandoned.

"What the?" the man muttered under his breath, he opened the doors to find nothing but chairs being stacked up and spider webs in every corner. He slowly walked into the guild, the floor beneath him creaked as if it hadn't been stepped on for months. He walked up to the masters office only to find it empty just as he was going to leave the room he felt another person's presence. 

The man quickly ran out of the guild racing towards the presence he felt, it was a young lady who had baggage on her back "Oh my, hello sir, you look lost, i would recommend that you run the another way" the lady statedkindly

"Why would I be running the other way?" the man asked the young lady

"Because of the war" The lady replied simply, "What's your name?" she asked 

"Natsu Dragneel" Natsu replied,"What do you mean by the war?" 

"A war occurred young man, the dark war?" the lady tried to jog his memory, Natsu shook his head still not understand what she was hinting. "The war where the creatures of hell began attacking Magnolia and the disappearance of the fairy tail guild, have you been living under rock?

"Something like that" Natsu laughed while rubbing his head nervously. " you said that the fairy tail wizard's disappeared but how's that possible? " Natsu asked, his mind automatically went to the worst possibility.

"I don't know, after everyone was evacuated the wizards just disappeared into thin air" the lady replied

"Can you tell me about the war?" Natsu asked because he knew that his father was behind these attacks.

"hmm-mm....All i know is that at the beginning of the year a fairy tail wizard told us to evacuate before the 25th of December because a war was coming but around September , the creatures appeared out of nowhere, they attacked and killed half of the population. The fairy tail guild gave us false infomation.... " the lady told Natsu, "I should get going now, don't stick around too long". Natsu thanked her as she walked away.

Natsu walked over to the bridge that he used to fall over all the time, he began to think about what the lady just old him. A war? Creatures from hell? How could so much change happen in a year?

Natsu remembered Lucy's apartment and started to run up to her apartment, he climbed up to her floor and tried to open her window but it was locked. Natsu began contemplating whether he should just jump down and go through the door like a normal person or smash the window. Obviously Natsu thought that the 2nd idea was better, he smashed the window and jumped inside. The room was darker then he remembered, it looked abandoned just like the rest of the city.

He walked over to Lucy's bed and noticed that the blankets were still messy, as if she woke up in a hurry and didn't have time to make her bed. He walked over to the desk and saw a letter, he opened it up and began reading.

Flashback

Dear Natsu, 

If you are reading this, than it means you have returned from your...journey. You're probably confused, because the streets, the guild and the whole city being abandoned, this is because of us, Carla had a vision that a army of demons were coming to Magnolia to declare war upon us so we evacuated the people of Magnolia as quickly as possible but things changed...drastically, demonic creatures began appearing out of no where which attacked and killed half of our guild members....this caused people to leave the guild.

Let me explain this in as much detail as i can, the moment that we found out about the vision, we told the people of Magnolia to evacuate by the 25th of December. Leading up to the date, we all trained. Some of us stayed in magnolia, some left... and others...were scared. 

For over 6 months, the remaining people of the guild have been training so much to the point where we bet we could even be a challenge to you but.....it wasn't enough. The demonic creatures came sooner than expected, they appeared out of no where and killed hundreds of innocent people, some were even from our guild.....

Your father appeared after we were able to kill all the creatures...but nothing good came out of that visit...only more pain and suffering. A few days after your father disappeared, leaving nothing but destruction, the creatures started to come back but only in small quantities. 

Levy luckily invented a teleportation, similar to the one that was built by the other Levy in Edolas, which will help us escape the second that every citizen is evacuated. We're not sure where it would teleport us but we're trying to stay close by in case your father shows up for war. 

Natsu...I'm not sure when you're going to be reading this letter, I can't even promise you that I would still be alive when you read this, but I want you to know that...... I believe in you..no matter what. 

From Lucy Heartfillia

Lucy finished writing her letter to Natsu, Carla told her that there was a possibility that the war that she saw in her vision won't take place anymore because almost all of Magnolia was already evacuated.. It was only a 50-50 possibility though so she wanted to write a letter to Natsu just in case.

Happy was currently sleeping on Lucy's pillow, she softly sighed but was happy to see the little cat sleep. The 2 have been fighting off the creatures day and night, barely enough time for them to sleep. Lucy turned off her light and crawled into bed and gently placed Happy next to her, she noticed that Happy was holding onto Natsu's scarf so she covered happy in Natsu's scarf as a blanket. She happily invited sleep to come as she was constantly woken up by the screeches of creatures.

Lucy woke up to the sounds of screaming, she quickly jumped out of bed and she looked out of the window and saw creatures attacking the citizens of Magnolia, she quickly grabbed her keys and whip. Happy already left the house, probably to prepare to leave. The attacks were becoming more and more frequent over the past months, she had been able to hold them off as the citizens left in fear.

Lucy ran down the streets and summoned 3 celestial spirits, Loke, Taurus and Cancer. The 4 began to fight the creatures while the citizens escaped. Lucy used her whip to get a demonic creature off of a man, the whip grabbed the creature by the waist. The man remained frozen from fear which made him more vulnerable as the creature was shewing through Lucy's whip.

"RUN!" Lucy shouted at the man who she had just saved, she fought elegantly as she used her whip to fight the creatures.

"Lucy, it's time, everyone is leaving now" a sudden voice broke her out of her fighting trance. She looked at her best friend who was wearing a teleport watch. She closed the gates of her celestial spirits and quickly ran towards her friend.

"Together" Levy shouted, the fairy tail wizards that were left held hands and formed a circle, every fairy tail wizard that was holding hands with each other began to disappear.
