The True Origins of Natsu Dragneel

Chapter 20

Team Natsu....could they even be called that anymore? Doesn't matter since the only thought on every wizards minds right now was Natsu.

Gray turned back to where Zeref was previously standing, but he disappeared. Gray couldn't care less about Zeref at this point, but he was the only one that could possibly know where Natsu is.

"What...what do we do now?" Wendy asked softly, her voice held no hope in it.

Erza's hand gripped harder onto her sword. "We leave. We go back to the guild and forget"

Everyone stared at Erza with shock, they were all thinking the same thing. What the hell is Erza thinking?

"Forget? You're joking right?" Lucy laughed in a joking matter, she didn't want to believe that Erza meant what she said.

"We're going back to the guild. THATS AN ORDER" Erza shouted. She began to walk in the direction of the guild. Luckily there was a train nearby which would take them to Magnolia in less than a day.

Everyone flinched at Erza's voice, but Gray wasn't having it. He wouldn't just forget about Natsu just like that.

"No" Gray said, he grabbed Erza's wrist and forced her to turn face to face with him. Erza looked at Gray with a firm expression, not displaying any emotion.

"Let go of me" Erza advised, her sword was still in her hand and she could feel her anger beginning to increase.

"We're not leaving Natsu. HE WOULD NEVER LEAVE US" Gray shouted at Erza, Wendy took a step back, tears were starting to fall down her face.

"Please stop fighting" Wendy cried softly. Lucy walked over to Wendy and hugged her.

"CANT YOU SEE? NATSU ALREADY LEFT US" Erza shouted, her facade breaking down in less than a second. All the hurt and anger that she was feeling was now being displayed on her face.

Wendy began crying harder, she tried her best to stop but the fact that Natsu left her, was hurting her more than anything. In the end, everyone she cares about ends up leaving because of her.

"Juvia think there has to be a reason why Natsu left" Juvia stated, she remained calm, for Wendy's sake,

"Well, the fact is Natsu left, he didn't bother to tell us. That alone tells us a lot" Erza shouted.

"Juvia's right, we've known Natsu since he was a child, when has he ever let us leave so easily?" Gray shouted

"Natsu is gone. WE NEED TO DEAL WITH IT" Erza screamed at no one in particular, although it felt like she was screaming more at her self rather than to her comrades.

"THATS ENOUGH" Lucy shouted, she had never seen the team like this before, they were meant to be comforting one another, not fighting.

"Erza's right, Natsu is gone. He left us" Lucy stated, everyone stared at Lucy. 

"So what? We should just leave him? Forget him?" Happy screamed at Lucy, it was the first time Happy has spoken since reading that letter.

"No" Lucy said while shaking her head firmly. "We go back to the guild. We inform our comrades what happened and then....and then we help Natsu" Lucy commanded firmly.

"How the hell are we supposed to help him when he obviously doesn't want it" Gray asked.

"WE'RE NO USE TO HIM RIGHT NOW. SO WERE GOING BACK TO THE GUILD AND THAT'S FINAL" Lucy shouted, she began to follow Erza who was heading towards the train station. The others began to follow one by one.

"Your leaving your friends?" Zeref asked his brother who was sitting on a rock, his head in his palm.

"You saw what happened" Natsu stated softly, he stood up and cleared the dust off of his clothes. "I was lucky to have you around to protect them"

"I wasn't protecting them. I couldn't care less what happens to them, it's you who I've only cared about" Zeref stated firmly, he's only goal was to protect his brother, nothing else. Natsu smiled at his brother.

"Thank you for everything" Natsu said, he knew that he treated his brother like dirt, he tried to forget his past but now he has to face it, head on.

"What will you do now?" Zeref asked curiously.

"Train, become stronger than father without becoming a demon" Natsu said seriously, he felt so much power flow through him and in that seconds that he began to turn, he loved the feeling. He wanted to embrace the power with open arms.

"I personally cannot train you brother" Zeref stated

"Why the hell not? Your stronger than me!" Natsu shouted, he knew that if Zeref wanted to, he could kill their father.

"This isn't my battle" Zeref stated.

"HOW THE HELL ISNT THIS YOUR BATTLE?" Natsu shouted.

"I hold no anger towards father" Zeref said firmly without any emotions.

"What the hell is wrong with you man?" Natsu shouted, he knew that father favoured Zeref over him, but he didn't know that Zeref actually care about their father.

"Father believes that the world is corrupted and filled with darkness, and I agree with him. He, however, takes it the wrong way, he uses the darkness within people to kill and gain power. I don't care about killing or power but I do believe in cleansing this world" Zeref stated firmly, Natsu stared at his brother with shock. Time changes people.

"So what does that mean? Does it mean that I'll have to stop you from destroying this world?" Natsu exasperated, he didn't want to kill his brother, he doesn't want to kill anyone but....if he had to protect the fairy tail guild from his own blood than he would, no matter the consequences.

"You are not strong enough to kill me Natsu, if you can't kill someone as weak as father than how can you expect to kill me?" Zeref informed Natsu, Zeref is one of the most powerful wizards that's ever lived. Natsu clenched his fist tightly. He wanted to punch Zeref so badly but he had to refrain himself from doing so.

"So how the hell do I get stronger?" Natsu asked although his voice sounded bitter.

"You'll train under a dragon" Zeref stated firmly, his voice never wavering.

"A dragon? All the dragons disappeared remember?" Natsu reminded his brother.

"Not all dragons. Not the black dragon" Zeref said, Natsu stared at Zeref as if he was crazy. The black dragon was the reason why most of the guild was frozen on Tenrou Island for 7 long years.

"NO WAY IN HELL. IM NOT TRAINING UNDER A DRAGON WHOS DONE NOTHING BUT DESTROY MY GUILD" Natsu shouted at Zeref in disbelief.

"It's too late" Zeref firmly stated with no emotions to his voice.

Suddenly, a fearsome roar could be heard across the mountains. A black dragon with spiralling blue marks flew above the brothers and let out another terrifying roar.

"Acnologia" Natsu muttered venomously under his breath.
