Ava's P.O.V
I smoothed out my shirt once I got out of my car, Theo doing the same as me, we just got to his parents for dinner. I was extremely nervous because yesterday his dad was never able to show up, which resulted in a screaming match over their phones in the apartment- Theo assured me that we would get along better than his mom and I, which was kind of amusing because he understands that me and his mom just do not get along, I can only imagine what it will be like when she finds out about the baby.
I turned towards Theo when he grabbed my hand, gently tugging me towards the front door, "I'm gonna be so embarrassed if I get sick here." I mumbled, following behind him, I get morning sickness more at night than in the morning, I have no clue why, but I do. "We'll figure something out." He answered, releasing my hand to open the front door, which felt weird but I guess it's not since it was his house too. "Theo, is that you son?" I heard a male voice, which made my aplms sweat, Theo noticed when he grabbed my hand again.
"Yeah, dad." He answered, practically pulling me towards the noise, "Your mom tells me you're bringing a girl-" His dad stopped talking when he rounded the corner to see us hand in hand, "ah, you must be Ava." He said holding his hand out, I shook it quickly but not trying to seem nervous. "Nice to meet you, sir." I smiled softly, becoming alarmed when he started laughing, "call me Mr. Raeken at least, gotta get to know you before we're on a first name basis." He joked, leading us to the dining table, even though Theo knows exactly where it is.
I let out a breath of relief, making Theo chuckle at me. "So, Ava, I've heard a lot about you." Mr. Raeken said, sitting down at the end of the table, I gave Theo a smile when he pushed my chair in for me. "Oh, really?" I asked, giving a teasing look at Theo, who noticeably turned red. "Graduated early?" His dad asked, I nodded, explaining shortly that I had skipped a grade when I was younger. "She loves photography." Theo told him, making a large smile appear on his fathers face. "Really? Photography has always been a hobby of mine." His dad started going on and on about it, and I didn't mind it, because I seemed to love it just as much as him.
"The chicken isn't sitting well with me." I whispered to Theo as his parents were distracted by something, Theo nodded, "just don't eat it." He told me, making it look like he was just kissing the side of my head before he went back to eating. I continued eating the side dishes on my plate, which were surprisingly very easy on my stomach, unlike everything I've tried eating in the past twenty-four-hours. "Don't like the meat?" Mrs. Raeken asked, pulling my attention away from my plate, crap, I started panicking. "No, no, I love it." I answered, making Theo look at me like I was crazy.
I stupidly cut a piece of it and ate it, knowing it would come back to haunt me sometime tonight, probably much sooner than I hope. "Why do you keep whispering?" His mother finally asked, I didn't even try to save myself, I just left it up to Theo. "It's personal." My face flushed at how that sounded. "Not like that." He scowled at me mostly, I bit the inside of my cheeks, tuning out his speaking, instead, focusing on the growing nausea.
I gripped Theo's hand under the table, he looked at me instantly, raising his eyebrows. "Excuse me." I rushed my words, getting up and making my way to the bathroom quickly, locking the door behind me. "How rude is that Jason!" Mrs. Raeken said to her husband, Jason, interesting. I flushed the toilet, forcing myself to get up off the ground, rinsing my mouth out as best as I could. I rushed out when I heard Theo's mother shriek, "what do you mean pregnant!?" I covered my mouth in shock as I stood at the end of the hallway, none of them noticing me.
"I would love it if you would stop criticizing my girlfriend who happens to be carrying my child, not to mention your grandchild! That would be freaking amazing!" He snapped standing up, his chair sliding back. "Ava, let's go." He turned towards me, apparently he knew I was standing there. "Oh, um okay." I whispered processing everything as I sheepishly made my towards Theo who was already swinging the front door open. "Theo?" I questioned cautiously, he turned to me still having a clenched jaw and an angered face. "Baby." I mumbled wrapping my arms around his neck, "it's okay." I added, pecking him on the lips.
"No it's not, she can't keep talking about you like that!" He exclaimed, becoming annoyed all over again, "and I doubt she will after what you just did." I laughed under my breath, "I love you." I told him, unwrapping myself from him and unlocking my car, "I love you too." He grumbled, but I didn't take it personally, knowing he's just angry with his mother. Besides, it's kind of entertaining that he's this angry where as I don't even care anymore. "Damn it." Theo laughed, I glanced at him as I slowed to a stop at the red light, "what?" I asked. "I went to grab your hand but my cast is in the way." He chuckled. I rolled my eyes, "poor baby." I teased.

"Don't judge me." I scowled at my boyfriend as he sat next to me on his bed, eyeing me suspiciously as I ate a can of oranges. "Your kid likes them." I joked, laughing myself at the stupidity of that statement. "This is gonna be a long nine months." He mumbled under his breath, I raised an eyebrow at him, "oh you poor thing, how ever will you live." I rolled my eyes in good nature, "at least you're not gonna gain a bunch of wait and then have to deliver a baby." I added. "Ooohhh!" Theo suddenly got all excited, he sat up quickly making me almost drop my oranges. "What?" I asked amused at his grin, "your birthday is in a week!" He said in a duh tone. I completely forgot, I've had so much going on I wasn't even paying attention to that.
"So?" I asked him, he widened his eyes, "you're turning eighteen." He deadpanned, "what are you gonna get me?" I smiled, pushing his back with my foot lightly, "I can't tell you." He chuckled, looking back at me, seeing that I was joking. "You've already gotten me enough." I told him, watching as he laid back, his head being flat on the bed. I patted his cheek, "you're weird." He murmured.
