Star sighed but nodded her head. "It's long."
         "So I've heard," replied Victor.
"Alright. It was late at night. I packed a few things in a satchel and secretly ran away from home. You see, I am human. Like you. But I have the power to transform into a dragon. How I have this power I do not know, but I have it. Anyway, I ran away because I wanted to help someone. Someone my parents didn't want me to help. But I loved them. So I decided to go anyway. I used the road as a runway, transformed, and flew. In the night I was safe. As you can see, my wings and body are camouflaged. But in the morning I was a sitting duck. People saw me before I could land. The government caught me. They experimented on me. It was painful and I couldn't do anything. But that wasn't the only thing. I had given up hope. When dragons give up hope they turn to stone. It's usually very slow, and the stone layers over the dragon. But I was so devastated and depressed I turned completely to stone in only five hours. It wasn't a layer on top of me. It was my whole body. After a while I guess they got rid of me and put me here. That's the story. Hey, how about you tell yours."
"Um, ok," said Victor. "I can do that."
