The Stone Dragon

Chapter Eleven

"I have a plan. I can see the kid but not the dragon. If we take the kid we can use him as bate."
"Good idea."
"Thank you sir."

A rustling and bang awoke Star and Victor. Star stayed still while Victor stood up. Victor tried to find a place to hide in order to keep Star from being found. Star watched carefully. Victor tried to climb a tree but it was to late. A military soldier broke through the clearing. Then after him many others. They grabbed Victor by the arms and yanked him off the tree.
"Hey! Let me go!" He struggled to get out of their grasp, but they were too strong. Star wanted to scream and fight to save Victor but she knew the consequences so she kept her mouth shut. She stayed put until she heard them get to the shore once again. It sounded like they went by boat. Star stayed in camouflage and walked out to the shore and dove into the water. She propelled herself down into the depths of the water. She followed the propeller of the boat which caused a disturbance in the sea. She swam up to it and carefully ripped the propeller off the motor.
"Something ripped the propeller off!" she heard someone yell. Then she bit into the belly of the boat and ripped out a big chunk of metal. The boat started to sink quickly and the people started to jump off, knowing that the hole was too big to save the boat. Star swam down farther to keep hidden. She got the right boat she could tell. She swam up just a little and bit one of the soldiers legs hard and watched the blood flow in the water. She kind of hoped he would be okay. Then she swam up once more and touched Victor with her claw. He reconized it and took a deep breath and closed his eyes right before Star yanked him out of the grasp of the soldier and into the depths of the water. Victor grabbed onto her neck and she changed her course to the south and swam as fast as she could.
