The Stone Dragon

Chapter Eight

       "The dragon is gone Sr.
        "Did you see where it went?"
        "Over the Arabian Sea Sr."
       "Get the troops and jets ready. We'll attack when it's light out when we can see them."
        "Yes Sr."

They were almost past the Arabian when the sun finally came out. Star was hovering over the water and had he tail dipped into the sea.
"Cmon." She waited patently and so did Victor. Then suddenly there was splashing and Star winced. She pulled a large fish out of the water and strongly gripped it in her paws. She flew onward on their rout and caried the fish with her. She waited for the fish to stop struggling and suffocate because she couldn't stand ripping it apart when it was still alive. While flying she cleanly gutted the fish and took off its head and tail. She then used her fire breath to cook the fish throughoutly so it could be eaten. When she was done she passed a piece to Victor so he could eat.
"Wow! This is good," he remarked after he took his first bite. "To bad you don't have any seasoning."
Star laughed at this. They were almost to land when suddenly two fighter jets flew over head. "Is this a war zone?!" asked Star.
"I would have told you if it was. Something isn't right," replied Victor.
The jets zipped about, not going anywhere near land. They were circling Star and Victor. Star noticed that they had guns and they were getting ready to shoot.
"Can you swim?" she called back over the noise of the circling jets.
"Yeah, why?" Victor called back. Star didn't answer him. She just dove into the water at lightning speed.
