Molly pushed her vacuum under the coffee table while half watching a tv show. It was kind of hard to listen due to the vacuum of course, but it was something to pass the time anyway. That seemed to be the thing she'd been best at lately. Cleaning and passing time.
She yawned and continued to drag the heavy machine around and glanced at the tv in pure boredom.
She had to do a double take to notice that her show had changed to a news broadcast. She sighed impatiently but then gasped at seeing a familiar face. The same blonde hair and blue eyes... no... it couldn't be...
Molly clicked the vacuum off but of course it took its sweet time winding down.
"... -sky is in critical condition. Though we are told the other officers will be ok. We now return you to your original schedule" Molly hadn't heard the full name. She hadn't gotten quite a good look either. But she knew. She knew who was on that screen. A mother always somehow knew when their child was in trouble. Especially a Lasky.

Barry paced in the waiting room as he awaited the fate of his coworkers. He was mostly concerned for Erika since they were pretty close... or at least, they used to be...
Bare wasn't sure whether his feelings toward her were friends or something more. It didn't really matter anymore though. Right now Barry just wanted her to be alright!
"I just don't get it!"He exclaimed suddenly making Grossman look up from his hands, "What happened? Everything was fine and then they shoot at Erika! And who even? Why?"
"You know who Barry. The man who tried to kill her months ago and weeks ago and days ago. The one who succeeded in his first attempt to kill and officer. Robert Lasky's murderer." Barry threw himself down in a plastic orange seat. "Yeah but who? Who?"
Grossman shrugged and sat forward. "I do know one thing though. They weren't aiming for Erika this time. Harlan said the gun was aimed at him but Erika interfered." Grossy stared at him for a reaction.
Barry shook his head in confusion "At Harlan? But why? Why shoot at a simple mechanic?" He shrugged. "What better way to hurt to Erika than through her friends" Grossman mumbled sadly. "Oh that's sick!" Barry spat back furious "That's really sick!"
"Most murders are" Joe Getraer said walking up. Bear and Grossman stood quickly. "Sarge! Are you alright" Grossy asked.
Joe nodded dismissively. "Yeah, yeah. Just skinned my hands up"
"How's Harlan and Jon?" Bare asked. "Well Harlan has a broken wrist. Jon has a concussion but he's making his condition worse. Keeps fighting the doctors from what I was told" Joe replied sadly.
They got quiet. No one asked. They were all afraid of the answer they would get about the officer injured the worst.
