Heliotrope

Rosita Pov

I am walking to the theatre to practice. I'm already late, because one of my kids refused to wake up this morning. Then I heard a quiet voice singing, from the alleyway. But at the same time, there was crying.

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time, y-you'll know

"W-why did this happen to me," the quiet voice whispered. Then started to cry quietly.

My mother instincts took over. At that moment I didn't care if I was late to practice. I walked into the alleyway. When I got to the end wall, I saw a child. A young piglet, wearing a purple and white long sleeve shirt, and teal leggings. Sitting in the ground, facing away from me.

"Um...excuse me?"I asked. She jumped up and turned to me. I saw fear in her bright green eyes. "What are you doing here alone? Shouldn't you be at your home, with your family?"I asked walking a little closer.

"Um...n-no,"she whispered,"m-my mom kicked me out. I've been on the streets for a few days." What kind of mother kicks their child out of the house, especially a young one. I don't know her age, but I can tell that she's very young.

     "Well I can't have you living here on the streets,"I responded,"but I can't take you home either. I already have 25 kids, and I'm late for practice, for now I'll just take you with me. We can figure something out later."

     She nodded and smiled. I reached my hand out for her to put her hand in mine. I grabbed her hand as I walked us to the theatre.

     "Whats your name?"I asked her.

     "Heliotrope, yours?"she whispered.

     "Call me Rosita,"I told her.

     We eventually got to the theatre, and by that time I was super late. I dragged Heliotrope into the theatre with me. When I got inside, Gunter was on the stage. He looked like he had no idea what to do without me.

     "Rosita your like totally alright,"Gunter said while walking up to me. Heliotrope hid behind me a little more than she already was. "And who is this?"

     "Gunter this is Heliotrope,"I explained,"I found her on the streets this morning, and I couldn't just leave her there."

     "Rosita your here, I thought you would never get here,"Buster laughed. Then he notice the scared child behind me. "I see you brought one of your children."

     "This ones not my child,"I explained,"she.."I was about to say before I got interrupted by fits of Johnny and Ash laughing. And then running across the stage.

     "Johnny! Ash! Get back to work!"Buster yelled.

     "Sorry Moon!"Ash yelled back.

     "Sorry Mr. Moon!"Johnny yelled.

     "They're cute,"Heliotrope whispered. I have to admit, since these two became a couple, they've been so cute. All the little things they do together. All the trouble they cause.
