I headed back to the coffee shop at 4pm as promised, slightly nervous because I had a lot depending on this job.

"Hi, just follow me" the same woman as before showed me to a back room and sat down at a table. "This won't take long, I'm Linda by the way" she smiled, "Kate" I introduced myself by shaking Lindas hand. "Now do you have any experience?" she asked. "I've worked in a restaurant before so im not really that new to this" I was using my best 'please give me the job' look.

After a few more general questions Linda stood up and smiled, "Well Kate, how about you start tomorrow bright and early!" she said cheerily. I sighed with relief flooding over me, "Thank you so much! What time do you want me here?" I smiled. "Well we open at 6am for the tourists, you'd be suprised how many customers we get from the airport nearby" she told me. "Well great, I'm a morning person anyway!" I said happily. Well okay.. maybe that was a lie, I was only a morning person when I had something good to wake up to.

I went back to the hotel and paid for another nights stay, I could afford to stay there now as I was guaranteed a good wage from this job. As I got back to my room I suddenly remembered that I hadn't  called the guy from breakfast. Maybe I shouldn't. I couldn't deny the fact that I liked him..he was perfect. Well, even though he was obviously clumsy! I laughed to myself and grabbed my phone. Who was I kidding? He probably had a girlfriend anyway, there was no harm in texting him. I typed in the number he'd scribbled on a napkin into my phone.

Hi, it's the orange juice girl here :) I just wanted to say there's no need to pay for my clothes, but thanks anyway.

Oh god. I hadn't even checked that before I'd sent it. I bet I sounded so stupid..crap crap crap. "Ugh" I said out loud. I had fucked that chance up.

I never expected a reply. But the next morning I woke up to one.
