Hey y'all! If you've made it to this chapter then hello hello hello, thanks for reading! I just need to explain SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT about this chapter before you read:
Some parts may not be accurate. In this chapter, child protection services get involved with Oakley and where she will go due to her now being an orphan. I searched for about an hour trying to find out what they do when an orphan (before being taken anywhere from their home) runs away. I wasn't having any luck and didn't want to delay this chapter, so I had to improvise. I apologize for the inaccuracy!
I hope y'all enjoy the chapter!! (:

Third Person POV
Several days after Oakley leaves her home, a large search has arisen. Not only has her face been put up all over the town, but the search has been televised on local and state level news channels. All of Oakley's relatives have been informed of the situation, but on the the third morning of her being gone, the child protection services decide to make a visit to Oakley's home.
After breaking in, they search every inch of the house in hopes of finding some clues as to where Oakley is. The crew finds her laptop that is being bombarded with messages, and easily gain access...the password is "Hamilton", which is given away by the many posters in the teenager's room. They begin the mass investigation and won't stop until they find Oakley. All relatives that were contacted have not expressed interest in fostering nor adopting her, due to personal reasons. Once found, Oakley will be placed in the foster system.

Lin's POV
I wake up and see that Oakley is still sound asleep with Thayne's strong arms wrapped around her. Aww, cuties. I can already tell that they'll have a brother-sister kind of relationship. Even though I can't post it on Twitter since the fanbase has no clue who Oakley is, I take a picture of the two sleepyheads to keep as a memory.
Today, Oakley might tell Thayne and I about her home and other important information. After Oak fell asleep last night, we figured out how she got here but we're still clueless as to why. I'm really worried that what ever she's going through is very serious; not that I don't care, but she seems like such a genuine girl, who doesn't deserve to have any troubles placed upon her. I decide that since it's a little bit early, I can take a walk to a nearby bakery to pick up some donuts for everyone who spent the night.
I walk to the stage and see Renée wide awake, scrolling through her phone. Oakley's dog is also awake, and probably needs to go to the bathroom.
"Hey Renée, I'm gonna head over to a local bakery to get breakfast for everyone. Do you want to come along?"
"Sure! I think it's gonna be awhile until everyone else wakes up. Should we bring the dog?"
"Absolutely! I'm not sure where you guys put the leash, so while I put on some shoes, would you mind finding it?" I ask Renée cluelessly. She gives me a nod, and I then quietly walk back to my dressing room to put on some shoes. When I walk out, I see Renée waiting with Max on his leash.
We walk out through the stage door and start walking to the bakery. Renée lets out a little sigh and asks,
"What are we going to do about the girl? I'd love to get to know her and all, but where is she from? How did she get here?"
"Last night, Thayne and I found her phone and saw that she walked all the way from a town outside of Philadelphia." The moment I say that, Renée lets out a gasp and her facial expression immediately turns to pity. She then asks,
"So, does she have a home? Was she abused? Is she an orphan?"
"We have no idea. She said she'd rather not talk about it now, but promised she wasn't abused. I just hope that we'll be able to work something out." I reply. Soon enough, we arrive at the bakery. I order a variety of bagels with cream cheeses and donuts for everyone to eat and pay. After being handed the box of donuts and bag of bagels, we head back to the Rodgers.
Renée and I both stay quiet, taking in the peaceful weather. As we are about to walk inside the theatre through the stage door, something catches my eye.
"Um, Renée? Come here for a second, please. I have to make sure I'm not going insane." Renée gives me a worried look before coming over and looking at the poster hung right next to the door.
"Wait a minute, it can't be! We're all the way in New York, why would they think she's so far from her home?" she asks.
"I mean, she kinda is..." I say before Renée holds a finger over my mouth and says,
"Sshh, no one can suspect a thing. We have to keep her inside until we figure something out. I guess the only thing left to do is wait for her to tell us what happened and why she came all this way." I nod in agreement, before ripping the poster down and folding it into my pocket. Renée and I rush inside, set the box and bag down on our backstage snack table, let Max off of his leash, and then run to my dressing room. I give Thayne a tap on the shoulder to wake him up, and I tell him to follow us. Thayne carefully manages to leave the room without waking up Oakley, then follows Renée and I to her, Pippa, and Jazzy's dressing room.
"What's going on?" he asks me, with a very puzzled look on his face. Renée and I remain silent for a few seconds before she speaks up,
"We found something when we were outside."
Thayne still looks clueless, but then I take the poster out of my pocket and unfold it before handing it to him. His eyes go wide before asking,
"Oakley is a runaway orphan and there's a mass search going on for her?"
