3. Arguing

After I finished my Caramel Frappuccino I walked to my favorite spot on the campus. It was a bench in a garden with a fountain in the middle. Flowers surrounded it. I called it my Happy Place.

It was around 10:30pm and I had to go to a party at midnight. It wasn't Cassian's party it was a guy named Jax's party. Jax was one of Cassian's friends so of course Cassian would be there. I decided I would go anyway.

I walked back to my dorm hoping that Cassian and Lily were gone. Once I reached the door I heard Lily, Maria, and Jessica arguing. Jessica must have came back to the dorm and found out what happened. I listened through the door.

"You knew she liked him! You heard her say it!" Maria yelled.

"So! Every woman for herself! Fair game!" Lily yelled back.

"One of the most important friend laws is staying clear of other girl's guys!" Jessica added in.

"We aren't in 6th grade are we? Things change!" Lily told her.

"Do you not care about her feelings? We literally have no idea where she is or where she went?" Maria yelled. That's when I put my key in the door and walked in.

"I'm right here." I told them as I threw my jacket on the counter. I kicked off my shoes and started walking to my room.

"Freeze." Maria said. I turned around and looked at her.

"What? I'm not really in the mood to talk." I told her while glaring at Lily.

"Well we need to." Maria insisted.

"Maybe in the morning. I've got plans. Anyway where is Cassian? I seemed to have interuppted something earlier." I said sarcastically. Lily just looked at me. I turned back around and started to walk back to my room.

I went inside and locked my door. I put on a short black dress with lacy sleeves. I put on a pair of black wedges that went a bit above my ankles. I did a smokey eye makeup look. By the time I was finished it was 11:30pm. I unlocked my door and headed to the kitchen to grab a small snack.

"Why are you dressed all fancy?" Maria asked.

"I'm going to a party. Remember." I told her.

"Oh shoot! I completely forgot. Give me 10 minutes." She said and hurried to her room. 10 minutes later she walked out wearing an above the knee white dress with rhinestones along the neckline.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Yep." She replied. I grabbed a poptart and quickly ate it and then grabbed my leather jacket and headed out the door. It was cold outside and I was wearing a short dress so I shivered a little.

After a while I got used to the temperature and Maria and I soon arrived at the party. Lily had gone to the Teacher's Lounge on campus since it was a Saturday.

I saw Cassian's car. Great just great. The party was being held at at one of the Frat houses. It was a small walk from my dorm. I walked in and saw laser lights and heard loud music. Jax was standing near the door.

"Sup Jyn." He said.

"Hey Jax." I said.

"Just as a warning don't eat any of the cream puff things. Someone put hot sauce in them." He said with a laugh.

"Thanks for the warning." I said. I headed over to the dance floor. Someone tapped me on the shoulder. I turned around and saw Cassian.

"Look Jyn-" He started to say but my anger had risen and I punched him right in his nose and then the side of his head. I hit him with such force that I knocked him out cold. Maria gasped behind me. I turned around and headed towards the door. I needed some fresh air.
