I quickly ran through the door as the bell rang, "Nice try, Daisy." Ms. Figden wrote on a pink slip. I sighed and walked to her desk.
"Good morning, Miss Butera, wake up late again?" She asked. The students chuckled.
"Yes." I said, nonchalantly. The door opened, and everyone's attention went towards the door. A girl with short dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes walked in. "Hi, I'm a new student," The girl walked to Ms. Figden.
"Hello! What is your name?" Ms. Fidgen smiled. She still didn't give me my pink slip.
"Stella Reyes." She smiled and held her English textbook closer to her chest.
"Sit, Miss Butera." Ms. Fidgen said.
"But you haven't given me my p—"
"Sit!" She shouted, making me flinch.
I sighed and walked back to my desk. I saw Ms. Fidgen sweet talking the new girl, Stella. She didn't know that this teacher is actually satan himself.
"Who's the new girl?" Justin whispered.
"Stella something," I looked over at Justin, he was staring at Stella, "She's pretty, isn't she?" I caught him off guard.
     "Oh, she's. . . whatever." He shrugged.
I nodded, "How are you holding up with the whole India thing?"
"It's fine. I mean, I have no idea why she did it. I do want to know."
     "Daisy!" Ms. Fidgen called out.
     "Yes?"
"You will be showing Stella around today," She smiled. Really? Out of all the students here, she chooses me? "And you have detention tomorrow not today." Her smile disappeared. I just nodded in her direction. I wish I stayed home.

The bell rang, which means I had to show Stella where her next class was. "You're Daisy, right?" She asked as we exited the classroom.
     "Yeah, and uh, you're Stella?"
     "Yes."
"So, where's your next, um, class?"
"Um, N49." That's on the other side of the school.
"Oh, okay. Let's go." I said nervously, waiting to be late to second period.
"Ms. Fidgen doesn't seem very fond of you."
"Yeah, she's hates me with a burning passion."
     "Why?"
    "I really don't even know."

The rest of the way to her second period, we made small talk, which I hate. "Since you're new and all, do you, uh, want to eat lunch with my friends and I?" I asked, definitely going out of my comfort zone. "Oh, of course. Thank you, Daisy." Stella smiled. "You're welcome, meet me here after 4th." "Okay. See you later." "Bye." After she walked into her classroom, I bolted to my second period. I looked like a freshman, but I am in fact, a senior.

The lunch bell rung, I had to get the courage to introduce Stella the jocks that hang out with the cheer team and the whole cheer team—including Luna. I had a bad feeling that Luna will hate this new girl.
     "Hey Stella."
     "Hey." Stella smiled back.
"Um, usually we go off campus and eat but uh, a cheerleader got in trouble for um, doing it in the bathroom with her boyfriend."
"You hang with the cheerleaders?" She lifted an eyebrow. I nod.
"Daisy!" Luna ran up to me, wearing her cheer tracksuit and white bow. Her smile faded away once she saw Stella.
    "Who's this?" Luna asked.
"I'm Stella." She held her hand out so Luna could shake it. Luna shook it. I could feel the awkward tension.
"This is my best friend, Luna." I say.
"Nice to meet you." Stella smiled.
     "Likewise." Luna said, hesitantly.
"Okay! Let's go to the cafeteria now." I said, a little too excited. They nodded and we walked into the cafeteria. All eyes are on the new girl as we walk to get our food.
"Why is everyone staring at me?" Stella asks.
"Whenever a new person comes to our school, they stare," I shrugged, grabbing a small carton of chocolate milk, "It's fine, it'll go away by tomorrow."
Stella followed Luna and I to our grey circular table, "Who's the new girl?" Aaron, a jock smirked.
"The name is Stella." she says with attitude.
"I like girls who are feisty." He winked.
Stella rolled her eyes. "Shut up Aaron," Hazel, a cheerleader, said as she walked over to Stella, "I'm Hazel." She stuck her hand out.
"Stella." She smiled and shook it. "Where you from?" Amber, another cheerleader, chirped. Amber sounds like a five year old and a bird combined. She once stole my PE shirt in seventh grade.
"San Francisco, California." Stella responded and took a bite of her cheeseburger.
"Why'd you move?" Hazel asked as she picked at her salad.
"Well, long story short, my dad left my mom and I and mom always wanted to live here so we just moved." Stella shrugged and sipped on her soda.
"Sorry to hear about that." Amber said.
"You're probably so sad." Hazel pouted.
"Oh, no," She swallowed her soda and laughed, "He was a complete asshole to me and my mom. I'm pretty glad he left."
     "Hey—"
"Holy shit! You scared the hell out of me."
I turned around and saw, Justin.
"Oh! You're the dude that kept staring at me in first period." She pointed to Justin and put a fry in her mouth. His ears turned pink. Everyone at the table laughed. He put his soccer bag and tray down and sat next to me.
     "Hey Justin."
     "Hi Dais." He sighed.
"I see you play soccer." Stella said.
     "Y-yeah." He stuttered.
"Nice." Stella giggled and turned her attention back to her food.
