Complications

Part 39

I rush downstairs as quick as possible. Daniel and Niall are outside my house and sensing the tone I heard in Daniel’s voice I can tell that he’s furious. I know that he’s strong and he will try to knock Niall down. I actually don’t know if Niall is strong, let alone if he will throw some punches too. His dad taught him not too and I hope that he keeps that in mind but if Daniel does try something, I don’t want Niall to not do anything. I’d rather have him punch back then to get beaten up.

‘Horan! I told you, don’t walk away from me!’ I hear Daniel yell. It’s good that I hear him yell cause that means he’s still a couple of feet away from Niall. If Niall gets hurt, I will never forgive myself.

I finally reached my door, it felt like ages coming down those stairs. I open my door to see Niall a couple of metres away from me and Daniel is only a few feet away from Niall. The look in his eyes, such anger. The way his fists are beside his body. He’s furious and I know that he won’t hesitate to hit Niall. As soon as Niall sees me his face lights up and the smile he gives me is brighter than ever.

I can’t help but return the smile and I see in his eyes how happy he is to see me. Unfortunately I can also see how angry and frustrated Daniel is. The moment I see him trying to hit Niall, I’m frozen. It seems like I can’t say or do anything and I just stare. Afraid of what’s about to happen. But Niall turns around very quickly and blocks Daniel. I don’t know how but somehow Niall is keeping Daniel from hitting him. I’m actually afraid that Niall would do something to him but a part of me knows he won’t. His respect for his dad is too big and he keeps everything he taught him in mind. I’m just hoping I’m right. The look in Daniel’s eyes went from anger to surprise to what looks like fear.

‘Don’t tell me what to do and she’s not yours to take. She’s not an object so don’t treat her like that. You can’t just say she’s yours when you don’t even deserve her. She’s a person with feelings and you don’t even care for that. You can tell me to stay away from her as much as you want but I won’t listen. She needs someone to listen to her, to care for her. And that’s exactly what I’ll do. I’ll listen to her when she needs me to and I’ll be there for her every minute of the day.’ Niall says before he lets go of Daniel.

I’m speechless by what I just heard and by the look on Daniel’s face so is he. Niall has faced me again and I still don’t know what to say. His words, how he said them.. He really respects me and I know that he meant every word of it. He wouldn’t care if I would call him in the middle of the night, he would just be there for me. ‘I was worried about you.’ He then says to me. ‘You didn’t answer and neither did your sister. I just wanted to make sure you were okay. So are you?’ He looks right into my eyes. He came because he was worried. He really cares. ‘I am now.’ I say smiling at him which he returns.

‘Daniel, it’s better if you go now.’ I finally say to him. I’m well aware of the consequences but for now he needs to leave. I have to talk to Niall, I will deal with Daniel later. ‘Are you serious?’ he says raising his eyebrow. ‘Yes, I am serious. Go home, I’ll talk to you later.’ I say but I’m not really sure if I mean it. He just has to go for now and it’s working because he begins to walk away.

‘Do you want to come inside?’ I ask smiling at Niall. ‘I’d love to.’ he replies. Before going inside he stops right in front of me. ‘You look beautiful today.’ I start blushing so I look away quickly. He walks further inside so I can close the door. I’m not sure how the rest will go but I’m glad that he’s here.
