Rye had tried so hard to keep himself away from Maya since the accident, it was his fault after all that she had been left in such a state, least of all because her parents commanded him to leave her. But it was too much, being away from the one person he knew he needed. Without Maya he felt like a part of him was gone, the boys could see it to so it wasn't a surprise to them when instead of going home for Christmas he asked them to drop him off near Maya's and he'd get the train back. It was time he explained everything.
For the first time in ages, Rye was nervous. What if her parents just sent him away? What if she hated him? What if she wouldn't speak to him? There were so many questions running through his head he just needed to speak to her.
Steadying his hands he knocked sharply twice on the door. It creaked open just moments later, revealing Maya, her eyes reproachful as she blocked the door way. This was not part of the plan.
"Maya please, let me explain. I love you and I need you." He said his voice cracking as he spoke.
"Talk then." Maya said bluntly.
"What I did, none of it I meant. You should know you're the only one for me. That girl, she took advantage of the fact I was weak from the gym. None of it was because of me. I'll tell you all, if you'll just let me in again. Please Maya." He chocked on a few tears as Maya's eyes searched his earnest face.
"You'd better come in then." Maya said, a hint of a smile creeping into her voice.
