Maya stared at Rye, his face earnest, silent tears tracing their way down his cheeks, as he finished speaking, then he turned and started to run from the room. She knew she had to choose fast, and she had to live with whatever she chose.
On the one hand, she needed Rye, his warm hugs, his happy nature, his laugh. But then on the other hand, he'd betrayed her, he claimed it wasn't his fault but who knew if he'd do it again. Taking a deep breath, she rose to her feet.
"Rye, stay, please I need you, she'd whispered tears spilling over. He turned his head. The tears reflected in his eyes to, but his mouth lifted at the corners slightly, hopeful you could say.
"You're willing to take the risk on me? Really?" He asked almost scared. If she wasn't persuaded already, it was enough to let Maya know he'd never hurt her on purpose. With a little smile she nodded.
"I love you Maya, always have and I'm so sorry for everything that happened." Smiling, Maya led him back to the sofa and they sat and talked for the moments they had before Maya's mum returned.
They talked about how scared Rye had been when Maya was hit, they talked about the anger Maya hard felt when she'd heard what Rye had allegedly done. Then they talked about the boys, about Brooklyn's adorable cluelessness about Andy and Mikey's joking and about Jack's acceptance of the madness.
Too soon, they heard the sound of a car approaching.
"Maya, before I go I want you to know that you mean everything to me." Rye said, as he pulled her into a hug, so glad to be holding her once more. "And you should know, I will never hurt you again. After all, with you by my side we can conquer the world."

Yay! Today's second update, thanks to everyone who's kept reading this far, by my calculations there are two chapters of this left. Hope this wasn't to long, but I wanted to show you all how Rye and Maya are made for each other.
