Be With You Forever

Hannah sat, patiently by the bedside, just as she had done every day for the past few weeks. How many was it now? She couldn't remember, everything was just one huge blur for her. But that would never make the pain go away. There had been endless test, doctors running in and out but that hadn't bought him back.

-----------Some time later that day---------

"The test results have all come back positive, the internal bruising is clearing up and whatever reaction he had to the anesthetic seems to be wearing off. He's lucky, there seem to be no major complications and he didn't break any major bones. The scans have shown a slight fracture across two ribs, but they will heal in time. If you're ready, it's time to remove him from the anesthetic." The doctor spoke kindly, and it was hard for Hannah to keep the smile from her face, knowing he was going to be okay.

"The current anesthetic should wear off, in an hour."

-----An hour later(Sorry for all the time skips)----

Hannah had taken a small break, while the anesthetic was in it's last time, grabbing some food quickly before Jack woke up so she could be there for him then. When she returned, she had to take a deep breath and then compose herself before stepping back inside.

Maybe she'd imagined it, but she swore he'd looked better before she left. Putting it down to dreams, or the effects of the anesthetic, she resumed her position by his side. Suddenly, his body started to heave and move slightly, shaking at first and then slowing to still as his head rolled to face Hannah.

"What's happening?" She called out, to nobody, with a nurse responding saying he would be awake soon. Hannah didn't know how soon, soon would be but only minutes later, his eye started to flicker. It took a lot of force, for Jack was weak but he pushed his eyes open to look his sister in the face. She was crying again, but this time tears of happiness.

"I love you Jack, and I won't ever let you go. I'll be with you forever."
