(Your P.O.V.)

You glanced nervously at your watch and looked around the restaurant for any sign of Jared.

"He should've been here by now.." you muttered under your breath. Your gut wrenched in uneasiness as the thought of Jared not showing up.

"..Are you ready to order now m'am?" The waitress asked. You gave her another apologetic look.

"Sorry," you laughed nervously. "He should be showing up any minute now." The waitress glanced at the clock on the wall, then back at you, giving you a sympathetic look. You felt the uneasiness stab at your heart. Looking around, you could see people glancing at you, flashing sympathetic looks your way. You slowly slid down in your seat, a tear threatening to fall from your eye. The thought of being stood up was devastating.

"Oh, sorry I was late babe, the traffic out there was horrible!" You heard a voice loudly state as a stranger sat down on the opposite side of the table. "I'm (C/N) by the way," he whispered. "Whoever stood you up is a jerk." (C/N) was remarkably handsome, he was wearing a tuxedo with a (F/C) tie and his hair was slicked down.

"That's ok babe!" You stated equally loud, giving him a wink. "I'm (Y/N), nice to meet you." You whispered. You looked around to see people rolling their eyes at you and (C/N). You let out a small sigh and looked up at (C/N), who was closely studying the menu.

"I've never eaten here before," he chuckled nervously. "Got any suggestions?" You pondered for a moment, looking down at your menu.

"What about.. the shrimp cocktail? You look like a sorta shrimp guy." You commented. (C/N) smiled, sending butterflies through your stomach.

"I think I'll take your advice on that, baby doll." (C/N) answered, which sent blood rushing to your cheeks.

You say and talked with (C/N) that night while eating (Your favorite meal). You would occasionally steal glances at your watch and the door but there was no sign of Jared.

"Well, I'm stuffed!" (C/N) laughed, pushing his plate to the side. "What about you? You almost done?" He asked. You nodded in agreement and went to grab the check. (C/N) gently grabbed your wrist and pushed it back to you.

"I'm not making a lovely girl like you pay for this meal." (C/N) objected, reaching for the check.

"But-" you started.

"No, no, it's fine, honestly." (C/N) interrupted. After he paid you both walked out with linked arms until you were a little ways away from the restaurant. You whipped out your phone and dialed Jared's number.

"Excuse me for a sec (C/N)." You asked. (C/N) nodded and walked around the corner where you couldn't see him. You pressed call and held the phone up to your ear. You tapped your foot impatiently as you waited for Jared to pick up.

"Oh, hey, what's up (Y/N)?" You heard a groggy voice croak from the other end of the line. You figured that he had just woken up from a nap. You let out a long sigh to release some of your frustration and began to speak.

"Jared, where were you?" You asked calmly.

"Hanging out with the guys, where were you?" Jared demanded, starting to wake up now.

"Where was I? I was at the restaurant for our date that took me two months to reserve!" You were practically yelling at your phone now, causing passerby to give you a strange look. The other end of the line was silent.

"Babe, I'm-"

"No, Jared." You growled at your phone and pinched the bridge of your nose. "Since you love 'hanging with the guys' so much and never have enough time for us to spend together, I'll do you a favor. I'm done. Now you'll have all the time in the world to spend with your friends. Goodbye."

"(Y/N) , I-" You pressed the end button and rubbed your eyes before you broke out in a full blown sob. You tensed up when you felt a hand on your shoulder.

"..are you ok?" You heard (C/N) asked from behind you.

"Yeah." You lied . (C/N) moved to face you, staring into your watery eyes. You felt your bottom lip quiver.

"..no.." you choked out. (C/N) enveloped you into a warm hug, and while much appreciated, you still squirmed in his embrace.

"Stop! I'm gonna get your tux all snotted up!" You warned. (C/N) chuckled.

"I'll worry about that later." (C/N) coaxed gently. You buried your face into his shoulder, wetting his clothes with your tears. He ran his fingers slowly through your hand and swayed the both of you ever so gently. The world stopped spinning and you were finally anchored to the ground by (C/N). You two finally let go and stared into each other's eyes. (C/N) wiped a stray tear off of your cheek.

"Look, I know that this might be too soon but maybe you and I could go on another date sometime?" (C/N) asked, searching your eyes.

"Sure." You smiled and quickly jotted down your phone number on an old receipt. (C/N) grinned and gave you a quick peck on the cheek.

"Thank you." He stated and started to walk off. You started to walk home in the other direction when you heard (C/N) yelling joyfully behind you.

"(C/N), you goofball." You chuckled, anticipating your next date with (C/N).
