You let out a sigh as you sat up from the coach, glancing on the clock on the wall.

'21:32 (9:32 pm) '

'Time to get to work.'  You thought. As you took a last sip of your favorite drink, and finished up the food you left on the counter. You threw on your jacket and walked out of the now vacant AirBNB that you rented out for the day.

You slipped outside of the tiny apartment building and into the busy nightlife of Sendai City. If you weren't here solely for your job, you would've loved to stay here in Japan.

'Your job?' You scoffed to yourself.

You were a thief for hire, plain and simple; stealing everything from candy bars to USB drives worth millions. Posing as a popular traveler who just wants to see the world, you snuck your true intentions under everyone's radars.

All except your parents, of course. They never had the heart to turn you into the authorities, but your relationship was strained to say the least. It didn't really bother you anymore, you only had eyes for your job now.

'Well, maybe not only for the job..' you thought. 'there is the detective..'

The man who had been following you while you were "working". It was always a coin toss on whether or not he'd be there, watching you steal whatever it was you were hired to steal. You were always a step ahead, yet several times he had almost caught you. You've both learned how to outmaneuver the other, evolving and growing. He didn't know your identity, but you knew his.

The first time you two met, he let his ego get the better of him; literally throwing a business card at you with his name on it.

"There. I'm Detective (C/L/N)." he smugly laughed, " Now, what's your name? Don't keep me waiting, doll."

Even through the mask you wore, you couldn't hide the disgust in your voice. Slowly walking up to the Detective, you put a hand on his chest seductively. You felt the Detective tense up in surprise. You quickly swiped the key card you were hired to get from his free hand, and landed a swift kick to the side of his head.

As the detective hit the floor, you leaned over to whisper in his ear.

"I'm nobody's doll, Detective (C/L/N)."

Even after that encounter, he still pursued you; being able to sometimes guess where you would be. You didn't like this, and always made precautions if your mask was ever removed.

"Kon'nichiwas koibito!" ("Hello sweetheart!") You turned to see an elderly lady waving at you, coaxing to come into her quaint, cozy costume shop. You smiled and greeted her back, and walked into her shop.

"Aiyah! You so pretty!" she exclaimed. "You want geisha? " she smiled. Even if you were horrible enough to steal things from a baby, you could never say no to a nice elderly lady. Plus, it would help you with your "job" tonight. You nodded and the lady excitedly ran to get her makeup supplies.
