Chapter 7- My Sleeping Beauty

Sodas pov

Aurora was so peaceful when she slept, not like when she was awake. When she was awake she lives one crappy life but when she sleeps if looks like all the problems fade away. Like she might actually be enjoying herself sleeping. I lightly stroked her hair and just laid there. I didn't really wanna move, I have work but I could care less at this point. I'm fine where I am.

"Soda come on we gotta go," Steve whispered then shoved a piece of chocolate cake in his mouth.

"Tell Don I won't be coming will ya," I whispered back.

"Ok, but if you miss tomorrow he won't be to happy."

"I know I'll be there tomorrow don't worry," I winked and he just rolled his eyes and left.

"Soda go on to work I'll be fine here," Aurora said.

"You heard,"

"Ya, now go I'll be fine."

"You sure?" I asked hoping she would say no so I didn't have to go.

"I'm sure," she patted me on the back and I stood up and grabbed my clothes.

"What if you come with me?" I asked loving the idea right when it left my lips.

"Fine," she said smiling big.

"Ok well you gotta get ready I gotta be there in like 15 minutes,"

I grabbed my clothes and rushed to the bathroom. I quickly dressed, then went back to my room. I knocked on the door careful to not intrude and see something I'm not suppose to.

"Soda is that you?" Aurora asked a little worry lingering in he tone.

"Just me Sleeping Beauty,"

"Oh, then come on in."

I walked in and grabbed my hat off the dresser while Aurora put a bright red lipstick on her lips. Man those lips, they were beautiful. My dad would always say that my moms lips were so pretty and I didn't get it but now after I saw Auroras lips I understand.

I looked at the rest of her outfit and she had a white shirt on under her leather jacket and torn up jeans with combat boots to top it off.

"You done checking me out?" she asked pulling me out of my trance.

"Yea, let's go." I said walking to the door. "See ya guys," I called out to anyone who was paying attention.

"See ya kid," Darry answered, I grabbed the keys and walked out to the truck with Aurora close behind.

"What was that whole Sleeping Beauty about?" Aurora broke the silence.

"Your name is Aurora and Sleeping Beauty's real name is Aurora so it's fitting."

"So you gonna call me that all the time now?" she asked laughingly.

"Yep,"

"Ok," she just laughed and the rest of the car ride was silent, but a comfortable silence.

I pulled into the parking lot and we got out just in time to Steve was just switching the closed sign to open.

"So you decided to come huh?" Steve asked sarcastically.

"Actually I made him," Aurora said while walking towards the cooler.

"Well good thing you came Don said if we don't find another worker to help out he'll have to close till we find one."

"Why?"

"Some new stupid law, I don't know who were gonna find to start working a week 'fore the school year stars up again."
