~Picture of Meadow's dress above~

*Gage's POV*

Getting dressed up and going to meet her parents, again, was not really high on my to do list. In fact, the last time I was at that house had been when the EMTs were there and her mother had been a raging bitch. Screaming about what the neighbors would think and how she was embarrassing them all. Going on and on about the mess in the bathroom and how blood was so hard to get out of grout. There was no concern for her daughter. Or what had happened to her. Only about the stains on the floor.

But when she mentioned Jonah, my instincts kicked in and I knew I had to be there. I had seen her completely lost in her mind, scared of her own shadow and there was no way I was going to let her walk into the lions den without me. The need to protect this girl was too strong for me to let her go alone.

Not that I knew what to expect. I honestly had no idea what the dynamic was and why she was so terrified, but the terror was real. An almost tangible thing. I would shield her as best I could, without being completely informed of the situation.

It felt almost like I was getting ready for a day at work. My senses were on high alert and my guard was completely up. I tried to keep my face relaxed as I got ready. I didn't want to come off as unapproachable or anti-social. It was harder than I thought it would be. First of all, wearing my Sunday best on a day other than Sunday didn't sit well with me. When I wasn't in my uniform, I really preferred a t-shirt and jeans. Something about this girl had me throwing all my norms out the window.

At quarter to four, I left my house and headed towards her address. Truthfully, I was a little worried about how I would be received. I knew she wasn't happy with me imposing like this, but there was no way I was going to let her go alone.

Before I had a chance to knock on the door, she was pulling it open. Standing there in a lacy, navy dress, hugging all of her curves, and stopping above her knees she looked up at me. And for a second, my guard fell and my dick twitched in my pants. Damn this girl.

"Well, don't you look edible," she smirked up at me.

"I could say the same about you, but I don't want a hand print on my cheek when I meet your parents."

With a quick twirl she showed off the full dress. A hole in the fabric exposed her whole back, leaving very little to the imagination. Just before the top of her ass, the dress came back together, showing the dimples above her cheeks.

"Seriously, Meadow, you look beautiful," I smiled when a blush stained her cheeks.

"Uh, yeah, thanks. Let me just grab my jacket and purse."

I waited on the steps for her. Afraid that if I stepped back into her living room, I would do nothing but think of the last time I was here. And I really didn't want to tear her beautiful dress from her even more beautiful body. That's not entirely true. It was really the only thing I wanted to do, but I knew that wouldn't get us anywhere.

She came back towards me with a coat in her hand, a nervous look on her face.

"I really look ok?"

"Of course you do. More than ok, seriously, Meadow you look stunning."

"I don't normally care, but this is one of my mothers designs and this is her dinner tonight so I just want to make sure I will pass her inspection," the way the was talking it was like his wasn't even the same girl I had met.

Gone was the fiery, take no shit from anyone girl. In front of me stood a meek, timid mouse.

"I will say it again, you look beautiful. Are you ready to go?" I only received a nod.
