" What are you going to tell me now? Can we save our friends or what?" I asked impatiently. I watched as Ruka walked back and forth in her room, most likely annoyed from my questions. When I stopped, she sighed of relief and opened the book.

" Ama didn't teach me all of it, but it's enough in order to bring someone back."

" Someone?"

" I can't bring all of them back Anna. If I do, what Ryu said will happen. I might die from this if it's more than one or I could be put in a coma. Either way, one is all I can do for now."

I nodded. " I understand."

" So, who do we choose? Personally, I think Aoi would be a good example and see if it really works. Aoi was closer to all of us than Setsuko, Haru, or Jun. I hate to say this, but it's the best choice."

" And sadly I agree with you."

" But where do we go?" I asked.

" To somewhere no one can find us. We must be hidden so no one can find us performing such things," she explained. " If they find us, they might bring us to the police. Right now, the only place I can think of is in another town where there are not a lot of people."

" Haru's old town might be the best place for us," I said. " Are you going to tell Ryu or your parents? Maybe the others would be worried about our disappearance."

Ruka shook her head. " No, they wouldn't care. The others wouldn't I mean. I would just tell our parents that we're spending the weekend with my aunt. It will give Hana some time with me too."

Before I could respond, someone opened the door without warning. It hit the wall and there stood a furious Ryu. His face was flushed. " I knew something was happening. Are you really leaving in order to do something so damn stupid?!"

" What's happening?" By then, Ayumi and Yoshiki came into her room, demanding why Ryu barged into her room so suddenly.

Ruka stood and defended herself. " I don't understand why you would barge in here without warning. This is my room, not ours. And this is my private space, I don't want you listening in our conversations!"

" It depends what you're talking about."

" That is none of your concern!"

" Enough!" Yoshiki shouted. The twins jumped at their Dad's shout. It seemed like they weren't used to such a thing. " Now, explain what the hell is happening! Ruka, what were you and Anna talking about that Ryu had barged into your room like this? Are you two planning something?"

" We're not planning anything," she said.

" Bullshit! They're planning on bringing their friends back from the dead."

" How about you mind your own business?" she asked. " This has nothing to do with you. I'm doing it by my own free will."

" Are you involved Anna?" Ayumi asked.

Their stares turned to me. I felt my heart stop and anxiety beginning to build once more. Ruka came to my defense. " She's not doing anything wrong! It's my choice to do this and I want to bring our friends back. Don't you want them back as well Ryu?"

" Of course I want them back but your body is more important at the moment."

" Your brother is right," Ayumi agreed. " You can die from something like this. Is that why you went with your Dad and brother to take Hana over to my sister's? You wanted her daughter to teach you?"

She sighed, grabbing the book off her desk and handed it to Ayumi. Her Mom flipped through the pages, most likely remembering the old texts. " Where did you find this?"
