I don't remember much of what happened, but the one thing I remember was grabbing Ruka as she was covered in blood. Akahana followed close behind us, but she still looked back at Ama's body. Ruka was crying her head off as she looked at her cousin's corpse.

Police sirens were outside and tried to get inside the building. Lucky, we managed to make it past them before anything else could happen.

Everything was a blur to me after that.

The next time I started remembering everything is when our parents started scolding us at the hospital. Ruka's parents and brother were in the room with her as the doctors tried to stitch up the holes in her body.

" What the hell were both thinking?" Dad asked me. " Because of the acts you caused, your friend is now hurt badly."

" I don't understand anything," Akahana muttered. " There...was a book and it caused flames to erupt in the abandoned house. I don't understand anything."

Damn it, Akahana was now broken. Maybe I was at some point as well. I was forgetting everything and only remembered certain parts. The only thing that stuck with me there was hearing my best friend scream at her cousin's body. She was really terrified.

" I just hope she's alright," Seiko said.

" Ruka is a strong girl," Dad said. " She's been that way since we met her."

" Yeah, but now whatever made them forget everything like that must have made them terrified," Mom said.

" Amaterasu," I muttered. They turned their attention to me, " is dead."

" Ruka's cousin?" Mom asked. " How...did she die?"

I sighed and ran my hands through my hair. " I...don't know. Something hit her...and her head fell off. That's how Ruka is covered in blood."

The three of them stood there, trying to put together what I said. There's was no way they would believe a girl who can barely remember anything. Before they could say anything, the door opened. The doctors came out as well as her family.

" What happened?" Dad asked his best friend. " How is she?"

" She's resting right now. The doctors managed to stitch up the holes in her body," he explained.

Ayumi turned to me, giving me a hard look. Ayumi was never the one who would act like that. She was always kind to us kids and understood if we were curious about the books she had.
" How did they get there Anna?"

" She says she can't remember all that happened," Mom answered.

" She must be able to remember some parts," Ayumi said bitterly. I glanced up to see Ryu looking at the ground. He must have been disappointed, but he didn't want to break down in front of our parents.

" I remember...Amaterasu dying there. Ruka was covered in blood because of her corpse. A book I had found...had a skull on it. It...laughed at us and mocked us. That is why she has such big wounds in her body. I don't know what happened to the book."

" I already scolded them Ayumi," Dad said. " There's no need to put more oil on the fire. They already know their mistake."

" Ama," Ayumi muttered. " Hiyori is going to be upset."

" She saved us," I said. " She broke the spell and saved us from burning to death and Ruka from loss of blood."

" What spell?"

" Ruka tried to bring back one of our friends by using a photo and drew a symbol in the middle," I explained. " It...didn't work. Somehow, she managed to bring back Aoi but her body was crippled and she was turned into nothing."
