Interesting Facts About The Series

So idk why I wanted to do this, but I wanted to publish some interesting facts about my trashy fanfic at the end.

~Adelpha's death in Ameliorate was planned by probably around Chapter 15-20 or so. However, she was not originally going to die after visiting her parents. Originally I planned for Jack to betray Adelpha and help Eucidine, but Eucidine would still kill off Adelpha.

~From the beginning of Ameliorate, there was Maria (snobbish girl) and Laura (foster girl in very beginning). They were both based off of the same irl person who acted the same exact way.

~There were also several other people who were based off of real people I know/knew: Kaitlyn, Hunter, Jordon, and Juli are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

~The five flowers placed by Adelpha's grave by each person had significance:

~I planned the ending of Cognizant pretty much around Chapter 5

~In Cognizant, Adelpha comes out as ace. However, this was also a dream. Adelpha really was asexual and too afraid to tell Alex, even though she knew he was completely in support of the LGBT+ community. But with all the joking around she did with him and Jack on 'disrespecting orgasms' he was able to guess pretty easily, but knew she was probably fearful so he let her not actually come out.

~Adelpha was also gender fluid and too afraid to come out, but it was less hard for her because for once she had somebody who never criticized her on how she acted or dressed (sitting like a lady, the way she walked, different types of clothes that may make her look more masculine or feminine)

~Most of Adelpha's intrusive and self-destructive thoughts were in second person (You're an idiot) That's because of how she was treated since she was young and her mind had become used to telling herself these things. Alex, on the other hand, had intrusive and self-destructive thoughts in first person (I'm an idiot) this was because of his anxiety and depression that formed, because nobody had ever told him those things. Only himself.

~Some events in Ameliorate/Cognizant were also based on real events

~In both books, Alex would sometimes leave Adelpha alone with Jack. He did this not only because he knew he could trust Jack, but also because 1) he didn't want to smother Adelpha and/or hurt her and 2) he was insecure that Adelpha would always turn to Jack more and that she wouldn't trust Alex, although that was not the case

~SCAD in France and MIT in Boston really were Adelpha's top choice colleges, Alex had just remembered that from some conversation he had with Adelpha when she was alive

~Adelpha's favorite song was Call Me by Shinedown because she heard it on the radio when she was younger and automatically felt she could relate to it

~The very last thing Alex dreamt of was Adelpha getting into her first choice college because he knew that she just wanted a future and if she was happy, he would have been fucking ecstatic and that would have been his last dying wish, if he'd had one

~The only thing Adelpha really liked about herself were her eyes, that's one of the reasons they were so significant in the book. It took everything in her not to become insecure about her eyes when Kaitlyn made fun of her for them, saying they 'looked fake, like her.'
