Outside the house had turned into a fairground of reporters, undercover agents, police officers and civilians. There was a cheer as Alexei Kosygin emerged alongside Illya and Solo, who were quickly ushered out of sight.

Lyudmila hastily stepped out of the automobile which had dropped her off at the house. Reporters lunged at her, screaming questions in her face.

"Miss Kosygin do you have any news about your father?"

"Is he safe?"

"Are you worried?"

"Have you seen him already?"

"Can you confirm that he's inside?"

"Do you know who the kidnapper was?"

Lyudmila ignored and pushed past them all. She came to a clearing in front of the house where security guys let her filter through the masses of reporters.

"Where's my father?" She asked one of the security guards impatiently. "Alexei Kosygin? Where is he?"

"I haven't seen him, Miss Kosygin, I'm sorry."

Before Lyudmila could answer him, she saw a silhouette in the doorframe being questioned by police officers and ambulance workers. He was breathing in oxygen from a machine. It was her father. She ran frantically towards him, lifting up her skirt so it did not get caught in her shoes.

"Father!"

Kosygin turned to face his daughter running towards him, and outstretched his arms. Lyudmila buried her face in his embrace and wept with happiness in his filthy clothes.

"I thought you had been killed." Lyudmila tried to calm herself by breathing in gulps of oxygen which filled her lungs.

"For a moment, I thought so too."
