He sighs as soon as she turns the corner, his once light and joking expression, hardens into a serious one.
"She really is a special one Barry."
"I know,"
"No, you don't, but you will."
Meet Mara Armstrong.

Disclaimer, I do not own Barry Allen or any other characters from the tv show The Flash, which this is based off of. I only own Mara and any others that may be made later on.
I happily skipped along the train platform with my luggage in hand humming the tune to "follow the yellow brick road." I hear a familiar voice chuckle from behind me and I spin on my heel to be faced with the one and only Oliver Queen and Felicity Smoak.
I roll my eyes and smile "What are you guys doing here? Especially you Ollie, I thought you were still mad at me?" It was his turn to roll his eyes as he said "who could ever stay mad at you?" I walk up and engulf him in a hug, "Its your choice to leave and I respect that," "working at S.T.A.R labs is a great opportunity" Felicity adds to Oliver's comment. I release Olly and back up a bit to face both of them, "especially for a star like me, right guys?" I say with a wink.
"You know on second thought don't answer that, let me leave on a happy note" I say as we all chuckle. "All jokes aside, we'll miss you, really" Felicity says. I nod telling them I'll miss them too then bid them both farewell before stepping onto the train and taking my seat.
All of these exciting thoughts go through my head about how my little reunion will be with my family, well we aren't related but that doesn't matter. I'm so close to all of my friends that we practically are family. I had been gone from Central City the past 8 months since the particle accelerator exploded. It was hard, Ronnie, who was practically my big brother and my best friend's fiancee, died in the explosion. If that wasn't enough, my adorkable best friend Barry Allen was put in a coma and still hasn't woken up.

I wouldn't call what I did running away, I just needed a break from everything and everyone. My routine would be waking up, checking on Caitlin and making sure she's up, checking on Cisco at S.T.AR Labs, going to see Barry at the hospital and comforting Iris and Joe. It was just too much after awhile and I needed to get away so I decided I would take a trip to Starling City.
That's where I met two of my now close friends, Oliver and Felicity. Even though I haven't known them as long as the others, they're amazing. They helped put me back together after Ronnie and everything, slowly returning me back to my quirky sarcastic self.
I could never thank them enough for what they did but I realized that it was time to go back home. I may never be able to fully be the same after seeing all of those people die because of what our team built. I know that, but the least I can do is hope everything has gotten better while I have been gone. I know I'm ready to face everything and everyone now, I just needed time. All of these thoughts slowly put me into a deep sleep.
Author's Note: Okay so I know that this was a bit short but I felt like there needed to be a filler sort of and I didn't feel the need to do a whole chapter on the night of the particle accelerator because I'n thinking of doing a flashback in one of the chapters so yeah!
