Disclaimer, I do not own Barry Allen or any other characters from the tv show The Flash, which this is based off of. I only own Mara and any others that may be made later on.Before I knew it I was sped into S.T.A.R labs while Barry then simultaneously sped out in his suit. Of course, my hair ended up being a mess. I don't even think I should bother trying to get it done at this point. I tied my hair up in a ponytail and strutted over to the computers getting ready to look at Barry's vitals. Cisco make a whistling noise and sat in the chair next to me, "Wow Mara, trying to impress someone?" I rolled my eyes and shoved his roller chair while mumbling something along the lines of 'it was trivia night'. "I'm sorry, did you say 'trivia night' or 'date night with Barr- Woah ow!" Not even a second later an ignorant Cisco was sprawled out on the ground. "Hmm did you say something?"
Soon Felicity was in the lab too helping out. Before she arrived, Caitlin informed me that Cisco had made a weapon that had the capability of hurting Barry, no sorry, intention of hurting Barry. What's worse though is that it was stolen, and by now we had basically figured out who. Sure I would've been mad at Cisco, but he wasn't trying to hurt anyone, he didn't know Barry and was trying to make precautions in case he was bad. I would've been more peeved too cause he didn't tell me but I knew it was out of fear. I knew Barry and he didn't. I wasn't going to yell at Cisco about it either because it being stolen was lesson enough and Cisco knows he should always tell me cause thats literally a part of my job. Anyway, I'm sure he'll get a beatdown from Barry, and no doubt Wells has already thrown a few punches so to speak.
It was only a few minutes later when Barry rushed into the cortex. Pain was evident on his face, but not only physical, emotional too. His wounds were the more pressing issue though, so I'd see to those first. Not so shockingly, Barry had been injured by the weapon Cisco made that Snart had ironically gotten a hold of.
"It's still numb," Barry winced as he slightly lifted his shirt to expose the wound. We had given the best immediate treatment we could, but quite frankly he would just have to shake it off thanks to his abilities.
"It's presenting itself like third degree frostbite," Caitlin glanced at the machine we were currently using to observe this.
"I thought he had hyper healing?" Felicity questioned while looking at a tablet of her own.
"Yeah well it's been slowed, he's extremely lucky his cells are regenerating at the rate they are. If they weren't, the damage he suffered would be permanent. Yet again, you're lucky to be alive flash-boy." I tried to be optimistic, but it was kinda hard since I knew that this was done by a weapon with the sole purpose to hurt Barry. And now it had. He doesn't know that though, yet. I had a feeling it was about to come up.
Regardless to this information though, Barry was up with a start, " Snart wasn't another meta-human. He has some kinda gun it froze things, slowed me down...Enough that I wasn't in time to save someone." I could hear the pain in his voice when he said this. It was a cold truth that Barry was beginning to realize, He couldn't save everyone. I frowned a bit knowing that it must've pained him to watch someone die again, and no doubt he was blaming himself. I knew it was going to hurt more though when Cisco tells him he built the weapon, especially because he was beginning to trust him.
Felicity chimes in, "According to his record, Snart didn't even finish high school so how did he manage to build a high tech snow machine?" Well, here we go.
I was surprised when Wells was the first to speak up, " S.T.A.R labs built the cold gun."
Cisco painfully stepped forward next, " Dr. Wells, Caitlin and Mara had nothing to do with this. I built the gun."
