Butlers, Erika's Story

Erika's POV

I'm Erika Karisawa and I'm one of the maids here at this mansion. Now, not much is known about me because I really don't want anyone to know.

It's been an entire month but I was finally able to get to talk to Shizu-chan alone. It's hard to do that when the fiancé he doesn't want is always around him.

I've known about Shizu-chan's and Izaya's relationship for a long while now. I found out by walking around the mansion, because I had nothing to do and saw them kissing in the ballroom.

But onto the subject at hand, it's time to tell Shizu-chan the story about Izaya that I saw.

After seeing and hearing Izaya and Miss Varona arguing in the garden behind a bush, it's obvious that they hate each other. Though I'm worried that something is going to go horribly wrong.

I follow Izaya around for a little while and see him go into Shizu-chan's room. I guess I should give them some privacy.

So I go back to my room in the maids dorm and see my friend, Hinaka Kasuna leaning on the wall beside my door.

"Hey Hina-chan!" I say happily.

"Hey Erika, so got anything on Izaya and Shizu-chan?" She ask.

"Yep and you're going to be shocked about what I saw today." I say then unlock my door and let Hina-chan in.

We talk about a lot of things but mostly about Shizu-chan's and Izaya's relationship. She was with me when I saw them kissing and we started fangirling together ever since.

When I started to get to the part with Miss Varona I freeze up a bit. Does Izaya want anyone else to know about what happened?

I debate a bit in my head and decide not to tell. I should talk with Izaya about that.

So I tell her that they're having sex again.

The next day I do my usual morning chores before spying on Izaya, but today I see him earlier than usual. He's walking with a lower butler, Mikado Ryuugamine to the masters office.

I follow and hide out of sight from everyone. Mikado leaves the masters office and I put my ear to the door and start to listen in on the conversation.

While trying to listen I start to hear yelling from Izaya and even hear him cursing.

As I listen to the arguing I hear the master raise his voice, then everything suddenly gets quiet.

I hear one soft voice say, "It's over Orihara, you will go back home today."

After a few minutes of quiet talking the doors start to open and I quickly run and hide behind a window curtain. I peak out and see Izaya walking away with his head down.

I follow Izaya to his room and see him start to pack up. When I get a small glimpse of his face I see tear streaks staining it.

He then starts to leave his room carrying a large duffle bag. I quickly hide behind a curtain again. Gladly he doesn't look back, but he goes straight toward the main entrance.  

I follow right behind him and hide. He just sits on the small couch near the front doors for awhile, crying. I hear a knock at the front door and see Izaya wiping his tears away then Varona pops up beside him.

She goes to the door, opens it, and I see a butler I've never seen before wearing a fancier uniform than the ones here.

The man bows to them then grabs Izaya's duffle bag and turns to leave. Izaya quietly follows the butler to a limousine parked outside.

When the door closes Varona turns around and I see her grinning face.

She says to herself out loud, "Well now I shouldn't have any competition. Orihara should have fun at his house, being engaged to someone they don't want to marry can be tiresome."

She leaves and I quickly try to find Shizu-chan he needs to know what's going on. I look around the garden then to the ballroom and can't find him.

I walk in the hallways and look outside and see Shizu-chan outside in the garden.

Seriously, how could I not see him out there. I quickly run to the entrance of the garden, but stop instantly when I see Miss Varona walk up to him.

I'll just get him next time.

The next day I see him with Varona and the day after that and so on and so on and so on.

When I feel like I just can't get a break I walk to Shizu-chan's room to see if he maybe alone this time.

I knock on the door and ask Shizu-chan, "Varona isn't here, right?"

He nods and I say, "Good, now I need to tell you something important."

What is it?" He asks.

"I know where Izaya is."

He looks at me in surprise and motions for me to come in. We go sit down, him on a couch and me in a chair and I explain everything.

"And that's what happened." I say.

Shizu-chan stares then asks, "So Izaya went back home?"

I nod and he gets up and starts to head toward the door.

I quickly ask him, "Wait, do you even know where Izaya lives?"

He stops and turns toward me saying, "Orihara is a well known family right? Then it should be easy to ask where they live."

He goes to a drawer and gets a wallet out and checks it then opens his door and leaves.

I watch him close the door and smile.

For some reason I have this feeling that everything will be just fine.
