Spending longer in the bathroom then needed too, I finally put the final touches into my makeup and hair look. Okay breath Chloe, you're just meeting the boy who ruined your life.
I tucked my long curled dark hair behind my ears and fidgeted in my long classy red dress with a open back. It was tight and fitted very well to my body type. I slid on some black pumps and stared at myself in the mirror. He won't even recognize you, you've changed a lot since then.
I looked at my face trying to spot all the differences. The hair, the weight, the acne all gone. He won't even know who you are.
"Are you ready?" The charming voice from the other side of the door said.
I took a deep breath loosening my tight grip from the bathroom counter. His voice calmed my raging nerves and I relaxed.
I opened the door to him standing there looking as handsome as ever. His face still had small stubble on it and his hair was gently put up as if his hands just briefly brushed through it. He stood tall and proud, a black suite and a small red handkerchief in his pocket. He smiled at me when he saw me practically drooling over him.
"You look beautiful Chloe." He grabbed my hand and I slid it into his watching as it seemed to fit perfectly.
His Cologne sent wrapped around me head making each breath of air wonderful. "Thank you Peter." I blushed.
He didn't flinch like when I normally said his name, he's gotten used to me calling him that.
"Is lover boy coming with us?" I asked Peterson. He snorted loudly making me crack a smile.
"Yes, lover boy is taking time off to see a mean old alpha when he could be smashing his mate." He shook his head at the thought of Charlie and I did too.
"I can't believe Vanessa is taking Charlie away from us." I felt my mood shift in the air just thinking about when Charlie will be leaving us soon to live with Vanessa.
"Their pack is still on our land Chloe." Peterson rolled his eyes.
He doesn't get it. When Peterson told me he would be leaving his room soon to go live in the new pack house being built for Phillips pack, I stood there and cried. Peterson of course wrapped me up into a hug and stroked my hair trying to get me to feel better.
Charlie was my first friend here, the only person who showed a little respect towards me, besides Rosie of course. So to hear that he'll just be leaving me, it crushed me.
Well played Vanessa, I stole her man, she stole my bestfriend. Of course both were not ours faults but yet it seemed to be.
"Baby please don't cry again." Peterson gripped my waist tightly as we walked to the sleek black car.
"I'm sorry, I promise I'll stop. It's just, with Rosie deciding she needs a vacation for awhile and Charlie leaving, I'll have no one."
Hurt flashed across Peterson's face and I quickly corrected myself. "Of course ill have you, but not a friend to go to when you're busy."
He opened the car door for me and I slid in. He ran into the other side of the car and started to drive away.
"I promise I'll work things out for you okay Babe?" He kissed me on the hand and held it in his as he drove us.
Normally we have someone else to drive us but Brett's pack is a very independent pack. They don't believe in higher royalty or special treatment. Peterson to them is someone who gets everything done by using other people, even someone driving us could send the wrong message.
We drove silently in the car, my thoughts tried to focus on Charlie, Rosie, Peterson, and the pack. All I could truly put in my mind was Brett Parker and how he broke my heart when I went off to college.
