Jai’s POV
As I finished swapping our clothes, I heard footsteps coming towards my room. “Shit,” I muttered, ripping out Luke’s piercing and placing in in my own lip. The door flew open, heaps of nurse, or as I called them guards, came rushing into the room, looking down at Luke. “What happened?” I had gotten good at acting while I’ve been in here, I mean, what else is there to do, go stir crazy? Please, that ship sailed long ago.
“I don’t know, we were just talking and he passed out!” Kaitlyn, my nurse, grabbed my hand, pulling me out into the corridor. “Maybe you should go Luke.” She said, me nodding. “Okay, thanks.” I said, smiling, her eyes narrowing. “Are you okay?” I shrugged and began to walk away. “I’ve never been better in my whole life.”

Before I went home, I quickly went to the corner shop to but some foundation to cover my scar. Just seeing it made my blood boil, the voices in my head flaring up. ‘You promised you’d kill who did that to you.’ They said as I paid for the bottle. “I know, and I will.” The cashier looked at me weird, but quickly shrugged it off. “That’ll be $4:99.” I pulled Luke’s wallet out of my pocket, handed him the money and walked out, quickly applying it to my face. I didn’t need a mirror, I knew exactly where it was, I’ve had it for this long, it’s a part of me now.
I continued to walk down the familiar streets, every part of my home town coming back to me in an instant. I breathed out deeply, savouring the air as much as I could, as I wouldn’t be in it for long. I’m not that cruel, I won’t pretend to be Luke forever, I just need to sort some things out first, one of those things being my mother.
I froze as I saw my childhood home, taking a deep breath before walking up towards the door. It swung open as I was about to open it, a pair of green eyes gazing at me. “There you are, mum was worried sick.” Beau said, eyeing me up and down. “Of course she was.” I muttered as I walked through, even more memories appearing. “LUKE!” I heard a women shout, an older tanned and brunette women running around the corner, pulling me into a hug.
She hadn’t changed a bit.
I tensed almost instantly, not used to the whole ‘affection’ thing. “I’m sorry, I just lost my temper, I shouldn’t have yelled.” I had no idea what she was saying or talking about, so I just nodded, saying it was okay. “How about you go to bed, get some rest, you have school tomorrow.” “School?” I accidentally said out loud, making her laugh. “Yes Luke, school, what you’ve been attending for 12 years.” I just smiled and walked off, using all my self-control to not just strangle her then and there with my bare hands.
As I stepped into my childhood room, the door slammed shut behind me, Beau in front of me. He didn’t say anything, but reach over and rub the foundation off my face, showing off the scar. “What the fuck are you doing here? Where’s Luke?!” I just laughed in his face, only to be shoved hard into the wall. “Where is he?!” “He’s where I’ve been for the past 6 years, not forever, just temporary.”
He punched me in the stomach, but it didn’t faze me. “I have a strong tolerant to pain dumbass,” I said, quickly dodging another punch, ducking out of the way and throwing him to the ground, twisting his arm back behind his head. He cried out at the pain, making me cover his mouth with my hand. “If you tell anyone about this, especially your fucking mother, I won’t hesitate to kill you, got it?” He nodded, me letting go off him so he’d drop to the ground.
“Good, now where can I find that little fucker called James?”
Luke’s POV
“No you have to understand, I’m not Jai!” I said for maybe the millionth time, the nurses just laughing. “Yeah, of course you’re not, and me, I’m Katy Perry.” I rolled my eyes, sick of being patronised. “Well you must roar then bitch.” She just turned away and walked out, her little friend behind her, and slammed the door in my face. I just slumped down the door, the darkness of the room looming over me. “There has to be a light.” I muttered, standing up and feeling my way around the room, eventually coming to what I thought was the desk. I knew there was a lamp somewhere, and I eventually found it.
It instantly lit up the room, me blinking so my eyes would adjust. Something suddenly caught my eye, there, perfectly hidden under the desk with tape, was a pocket knife, the brick behind it removed. I kneeled down to get a better look, to find a piece of paper, folded and with red stains covering the page, inserted carefully into the open space. I let out a shaky breath, before reaching in and opening it, my heart settling in my throat.
It was a picture from our 12th birthday, a few months before ‘it’ happened. Jai, James, Beau, mum, dad, nonna, nonno, and a few of our other mates and myself, all lined up in front of the oak tree in front of our house, huge smiles on our faces. But that wasn’t the bad thing. There were circles around some of the faces, probably made from blood from seeing the traces of what was on the pocket knife, and a cross around one particular.
“Holy shit.”
(A/N That was short but I just wanted to show you what was happening with other twin quickly)
Jai’s POV
I knocked on the wood door, it being swung open by a brunette young girl. “Hey Luke,” She said, me not quite remembering her name. “James is in his room, come in.” I smiled and stepped in, the house looking more furnished than the last time I had seen it. “Thanks..” I began to say, sure that her name was on the tip of my tongue. “Rita.” She replied slowly, a smile on her face. “Straight down the hall to your left if you don’t remember, I mean, you haven’t been here for a while.” This puzzled me. Weren’t they close anymore? I walked down the hall and opened James’ door, his brown eyes widening. “Hey, what are you doing here, we usually meet at yours?” Oh, that’s why.
I shrugged, pushing the door closed behind me and leaning on it. “I needed to talk.” He raised an eyebrow, getting up from his bed. “About what? Jai?” My head shot up at my name, my eyes narrowing. “Yeah, yeah Jai. What do you remember about him?” He looked confused before answering. “Um, I always remember him being a bit quiet and confined, so that’s probably why he did what he did I guess.” I felt my temper beginning to rise, me stepping closer to him. “Do you think he should be where he is?” James laughed. “Fuck yeah, I mean you said it yourself, he’s crazy. Jai is crazy.”
I completely lost it at this.
“WELL MAYBE THERE’S A REASON FOR THAT!” I shouted, grabbing his collar and pulling his face closer to my own. “MAYBE I DID WHAT I DID FOR A FUCKING REASON, HAVEN’T YOU DUMBASSES THOUGHT OF THAT YET?!” I heard him breathe in sharply, his eyes flickering to my scar that the rain must have made appear. “Jai?” I smiled, my head suddenly beginning to pound, signalling one key thing.
‘I thought you said you’d kill the one who did that to you?’
