*3 Weeks Later*
STILL Luke’s POV
“Luke?” Mum asked, appearing suddenly in the doorway. Her, Beau and myself were acting like ‘it’ had never happened, but you can never really forget it, especially if that ‘it’ was Jai. “Have you seen my foundation?” I just shook my head. “No, why?” She just shrugged. “I’m a woman Luke, I need my makeup.” As she walked out of her room a thought crossed my mind, but I quickly dismissed it, never wanting to think of him again.
But fate had other plans.
“WHERE THE FUCK IS MY SNAPBACK?!” I heard Beau scream from his room, barging into my own and chucking things around, obviously thinking I had what he wanted. “I didn’t steal it if that’s what you were thinking.” I muttered, his icy green eyes showing nothing but anger. “Well maybe you should get off your fucking ass and help me find it!” I groaned and hopped off my bed, really getting sick of his constant mood swings.
It was like he had PMS or something, but instead of once a month it was every single day
After a few seconds of pretending to look, I collapsed on the dresser. “Look, I have no idea where it is Beau, so please get out.” He let out a loud sigh of anger. “But I have a date with Kaity tonight, I need that snapback!” I just shrugged. “Well I can’t help you, leave.” I said, pushing him out of my room with force. “But it’s my favourite I-“The door unluckily slammed in his face, me not able to hear the rest of what he was saying.
I looked around my room, it looking like a bomb had gone off. As I was starting to pack things away, I noticed half of my clothes and my bag was missing, but that wasn’t the worst thing. My phone was gone. The worst thought I could muster up in my head made me gulp, me quickly running out of my room into mums, her still looking for her foundation. “Mum, I think we have a problem.” She just waved her hand at me, signalling she didn’t care. I gently grabbed her arm, looking directly into her eyes. “No mum, I mean we really have a problem.”
Jai’s POV
I walked carelessly down the street, really wondering how they didn’t recognise one of their long serving patient’s casually walking out of the building. Yes I was wearing different clothing, had a hat covering my face and was also wearing foundation to cover my scar, but you’d really think they’d be a bit smarter wouldn’t you? “Best facility in Melbourne my ass.” I muttered, my pace quickening just in case someone did end up following me.
I was heading to someone who used to share a room with me as I was starting out in that place, he, unlike me, wasn’t insane, and was just misunderstood, and also got chucked out not long after he was put in. I hadn’t heard from him since, but I knew he would remember me. I’m not exactly the type of person you can simply forget in 5 years.
I knocked on the wooden door, looking at the house I thought was his home. It wasn’t anything special, but I knew he probably lived alone, as there was only one car out the front, and didn’t look as if it would happily fit 2 residents. The door swung open, brown eyes going from happy to shocked, all in a matter of a second. “Jai?” He whispered, opening the door and pulling me inside, his eyes wide. “Hey Daniel.”
