I was still awake when the boys were forced to leave for being too rowdy. Bored and alone, all I could do was wait until morning to be released. The view outside the window wasn’t too shabby. I mean, at least I could see the stars.

Heaving a sigh, I got up and stretched. “Those boys think I’m so fragile. Honestly, I would have been fine on my own.” I grumbled, padding over to the window and leaning against the sill. Wearing the typical hospital gown was not going to happen. Thankfully, Haruhi brought a pair of shorts and a tank top for me to wear instead.

The scars littering my skin could be seen clearly. Criss crossing over my shoulders and thighs. Scars also racked my back and stomach, but I keep my skin covered for the most part. But, here I was, in a hospital wearing skimpy pajamas. If I had known this would happen, I would have spent the night in the park.

Time crept by and I watched the sun rise from the clouds. And with the sun, came my brothers. Thankfully, it was only my doppelgangers.

“Hey, sis!”  “We came to check on you before school started!” I nodded to the two and sat down on the bed. “Okay. Think I could go home now? Staying dressed like this has got me on edge.” I asked, rubbing my arms as if I were cold.

Hikaru tossed a hoodie over me with a smile. “Sure. Mom’s coming home today too, be sure to greet her.” Kaoru ruffled my hair before both boys led the way from the hospital.

“You guys don’t seem to be bothered by my scars.” I mention aloud as I kept an eye on their reactions. They shrugged their shoulders and smiled at me. “Street Fighting is taxing, right?”  “We kinda expected a few scars. Though honestly, not as many as you have.” They answered. Shrugging my own shoulders, I found that I could open up just a little bit with my brothers.

Home and alone. I had been banned on leaving the house in general unless I had someone with me. But, I was weirdly okay with that.

Sitting on one of the many couches, I started a movie and waited for mother to return home. The beginning credits had barely started when she made her entrance.

“I’M HOME MY DARLINGS! Oops, schools still in session.” She called out before lowering her voice to an embarrassed laugh. “Welcome home, mother.” I said, just loud enough for her to hear.

Yuzuha entered the movie room I had taken residence in with a quizzical expression. “You’re home? What about school?” I motioned to my wrapped shoulder. “Stitches. Hikaru and Kaoru wouldn’t have let me go anyway, so I stayed home.”

After a mouthful of popcorn, my mother decided to take a seat beside me. “Baby, is there something going on?” I paused in my snacking and thought for a moment. Telling her would just add a bucket of drama I wasn’t ready for. Yet, waiting would only make the bucket grow to a truckload.

I sighed and shook my head. “Just working through a few things. Nothing to worry about.” Another bite of popcorn and Yuzuha sighed. “Alright. If you need anything, I’m here.”

Kissing the top of my head, mother left the room for one of her studios. I pressed play on my movie and munched on popcorn. My thoughts were not on the action flick, though. They were on my family and how much things were already changing.

I quickly grew bored of what I was watching and left to find my mother. Walking up one of the several staircases, I found her guite easily. “What are you working on?”

Her eyes met mine before she smiled widely. “Why, I decided to make you a dress!” I paled at her statement, but went with it anyway. “Uh, that’s great. What for? You may not know this, but dresses and skirts are not part of my wardrobe.”
