The door to my prison opened again. I couldn’t lift my head to see who it was. But, by the polished shoes and snarky attitude, I already knew who it was…

3rd, pov. Host club.

Two days after Mina’s Whipping, the hosts had yet to find her. The docks, piers and shipyard had been scoured. A few cabins in Hokkaido were searched. Even a few Y.M.C.A. were looked over. There was no sign on Mina or Terran anywhere they looked, and they were running out of time. No one wanted to let Mina go through the pain of having her eye pulled. In fact, no one wanted her to hurt at all. But there was no changing what has already taken place.

Kyoya’s phone blared out and was quickly answered with a curt. “Yes.” Several moments of silence passed before he, and everyone in the room, stood with a grim expression. “Take him to the interrogation room and tell him I will inflict every ounce of pain He caused Mina, as well as everything else that has or will happen to her if he doesn’t answer my questions.” Snapping the phone shut, Kyoya faced his friends.

“They found one of the thugs and we will make him tell us everything.” That was all the club needed to get going. They were all piled in a limo and heading for the Ootori police force base. Only one thing was going through their minds right now. Can we make it in time?

Kyoya practically ran out of the office with the hosts in hot pursuit. The man only took five minutes to break once an officer brought in a whip and a stun baton. Mina was being held at a dock. But what everyone failed to look for was something under the buildings.

While the limo sped to it’s destination, Kyoya checked in the wounded girl. A rat was biting at her shoulder and the girl weakly tried to bat it away. She was pale and suffering from several problems that could be healed over time. But, they had to save her first. It had only been five days since she was taken away, everyone prayed Mina would be safe and out of harm's way before the sixth. Both eyes where they should be.

The loud click of the lock had everyone in panic mode, including Mr. Honda; the driver. They were too late.

Mina, pov.

Glossy, white shoes were in my line of site on the seventh step. “My, my. What a pitiful state you are in, Mina-chan.” Terran snickered, crouching down to my level. “Looks like those friends of your haven’t found you yet, have they? All your hopes and prayers to be free. What a pity.”

The man pulled out a box cutter. The crude weapon looking out of place in his hand. “Let’s start with this hair. It’s all over the place and I can’t get a good look at those eyes.” He practically sang the last word. I would have retorted with a smart remark, but it was taking everything I had just to stay conscious.

Gripping a fist full of my orange hair, Terran cut away the tangled, bloody mess. Occasionally, the blade would cut into my scalp or the constant tugging would split my skin. But I didn’t make a sound. I couldn’t. For the first time in years, I was actually afraid I would die here. Not because I would lose an eye, I could live with that. But starvation, bloodloss, rats, infection. All this was leading to a very slow death. One that scared me more than mother’s temper.

The blade came dangerously close to my ear a few times before he purposefully cut it. All I let out was a grunt of pain before he dropped me. “Now, that’s better. Your friends must be frantic at this point.” Gripping the back of my neck, Terran lifted me from the floor with ease. “And now, I will have that eye.”

I spat in the man’s face and growled. “I wasn’t even the person who gouged it out, moron. Your own brother did that!” The box cutter sliced my cheek and hovered mere millimeters from my left eye. “Yes but, incidentally, he was aiming for you.” Terran forced us to face the camera. “Now, smile. Your friends are going to have nightmares of this.”

3rd, pov…

Kyoya and co. All booked it inside the building. The Ootori police force had already entered and were searching for a way down. Honey and Mori joined the search and found the staircase leading to the basement. Cliche bookcase door. Squad members and hosts charged down and was met with an iron door. “KNOCK IT DOWN!” Kyoya ordered, which was immediately followed.

Terran released Mina, his expression was full of surprise. “My, what timing. You get to save the damsel. But…” The man held up a bloody hand. “She may be...Missing something.” Kyoya simply took three steps to close the distance between him and Terran. The man didn’t even have time to blink when the Ootori boy punched him in the nose; breaking it.

“Take him away and get the paramedics here, now.” He growled, cleaning his hand on a handkerchief. The host club gathered around Mina with worry and slight relief. She was breathing, though it was obviously labored. Kyoya started to look her over without touching her. “And I thought her scars were bad before.” He grimaced, getting a glimpse of her injured eye.

The paramedics came and gently moved the girl to a stretcher. She winced and hissed in her unconscious state, causing everyone to take things even slower. By the time they reached the ambulance, it was dark. No one wanted to leave Mina, but not everyone could fit in the vehicle.

“Hikaru and Kaoru can stay with their sister.  Kyoya should ride up front to keep an eye on her as well. The rest of us will meet you there shortly.” Tamaki mentioned, easily leading the group. In minutes, everyone was leaving for the Ootori Hospital. Where Mina would get the best of care, rest and nourishment.

Leads, I.V.s, oxygen tubes and blood transfusions had Mina barely stable in the I.C.U. The host club, on the other hand were stuck in the waiting room for hours, waiting for some news on their friend/sister.

“I can’t take this!” Hikaru nearly yelled. “She’s our sister! We should be right by her side.” His hands were roughly pulled through his hair while Kaoru was almost completely shut down. Kyoya kept an expressionless face as he watched the hallway. Not once looking away.

“Hikaru, please calm down. They’re doing everything possible to keep her alive right now.” Haruhi sniffed, keeping her place curled up beside Tamaki. The emotional twin huffed, but continued pacing.

Honey clung to Mori as if his life depended on it, giant tears staining his younger cousin’s shirt. “M-Mi-chan w-w-will b-be just f-f-fine.” He cried, clutching his favorite bunny to the point of popping.

“WHERE IS MY BABY GIRL!” Came the enraged scream of Yuzuha Hitachiin. Hazel eyes blazing, she stormed into the room and marched straight to the nurse in charge. “I am seeing my baby, now.” There was no room for questions as the powerful woman glared down to the meek nurse that head several folders.

If the room wasn’t crowded enough as it was, two doctors came in from the hall. Kyoya stood and greeted them both. “Brother, what is her condition?” There was the slightest hint of panic in his voice as his eyes kept a steady gaze at the doctor. Akito sighed heavily before answering.

“Mina Hitachiin has slipped into a coma due to severe head trauma, blood loss, starvation and many other inflicted illnesses and wounds. She will be on round the clock care until we can remove her from life support.” Akito stated calmly, watching the reactions from the room’s occupants. Yuzuha was the first to step up, poking the doctor in the chest. “I am seeing my baby and not leaving her side. All of her friends are welcome to visit.”

Once her piece was said, Yuzuha swiftly marched past the man and searched for her only daughter. She was quickly followed by an anxious Hikaru the drug his stumbling brother. Everyone else took a moment to let everything sink in.

-With the Hitachiins-

The three Hitachiins couldn’t stop the tears that fell from their eyes. The oxygen tube leading out of Mina’s mouth was almost sickening. I.V.s and catheters seeming to grow out of the thin girl. The left side of her face was heavily bandaged, none of them wanted to think of what was under there. Or rather, what wasn’t.

Kaoru walked around his sister’s bed and took a seat beside her. Hikaru soon followed and placed himself beside him, stroking his little sister’s hand. Yuzuha had her hand covering her face, tears falling through her fingers. She stumbled closer and fell to her knees, letting herself cry onto the mattress Mina slept on.

All three were deathly quiet except for the occasional sniff. None of them wanted to see Mina like this, but they couldn’t deny the fact that this was real. The constant beep of the heart monitor gave them ease that she was at least alive, if only just.
