I could feel hands running through my hair. Funny, it felt longer than I remember. How long was I out this time? Blinking my one, good eye, I looked to find Kyoya stroking my hair. He smiled slightly and held out his hand. It took longer than it should for me to realize he wanted to help me sit up.
Shaking my head slightly, I looked up to find my brothers, mother and the rest of the host club. My droopy smile gave them a reason to chuckle. “Mina, how are you feeling?” My mother asked, touching a hand to my shoulder. I gave a slow nod and leaned into Kyoya. For some reason, it was hard for me to wake up.
Two nurse walked in and asked if non-family members could step out while they checked over my condition. Taking much longer than I would have liked, I did as I was told; agonisingly slowly.
The scars shocked me more than they should have. Wrapping around my skin like thick cords. The hole for my eye had me cringing and fighting to hide the gaping wound. Once the tests and measurements were over, I was laid back and already starting to pass out. “That...was tiring.” I huffed, my eye already closed.
Several people filed into the room and I didn’t even have to look to know it was the host club. I also wasn't up to listening to their conversation while enjoying the feeling of my hair being brushed. Cuddling closer to the pillow, I slipped into sleep once again.

Yuzuha brushed her daughter’s wild hair as her friends all sat around and watched the girl sleep. Everyone was mildly surprised that a simple check up had taken so much energy from the once strong girl. But, it only proved how much Mina had gone through.
Kyoya was watching from the door while the rest piled around the bed. Everyone knew it would take some time for Mina to even walk on her own. Hikaru and Kaoru, who were seated on either side of their sister, prayed that she would be back to her energetic self. Everyone else simply wanted her to smile freely.
The members slowly trickled out, one by one, leaving the Hitachiins and Kyoya the only ones left in the room. Mina slept peacefully with the occasional twitch in her dreams. Not once did she stir awake.
Sighing lowly, Hikaru stood and stretched. Rolling his shoulders and popping his back. “Man, we really need to have something fun to do.” He groaned as Yuzuha giggled. “I agree, maybe a trip to Bora Bora? The vacation could be good for Mina and the rest of the club!” Clapping her hands together, Yuzuha stood and flew out of the room. “I’ll make the reservations and see if I can get Haru-chan a passport.”
Kaoru chuckled as Hikaru grinned, at least it would be different for them. Kyoya finally entered the room and took the seat Yuzuha had just vacated. He looked over Mina with worried eyes. She was pale, thin and so fragile it was hard to take in. No one would know the trauma she had been through. The pain she has endured. Not even the emotional strain her own family had caused. Only Mina herself would know and remember.
The Ootori boy sighed and traced one of the many scars that raced down Mina’s right arm. It was thin and almost straight, except for one end. The jagged edge almost took a ninety degree turn to the left, as if the knife that caused the scar was yanked away.
Then, before anyone could process anything, Mina shot up. She held one hand out while the other to her injured eye. One golden eye darted around before coming to focus. “Ah, um, sorry…” She muttered while slowly relaxing. “Mina?” Kyoya questioned. He reached out and touched her shoulder, moving a strand of orange hair aside. Mina glanced at the worried boy before shaking her head. “Fine, I’m fine. Just….bad dream.”
Hikaru looked to Kaoru before the two slid beside the frazzled female. “It’ll be alright.” Hikaru started, stroking his sister’s hair. “No one is going to hurt you again.” Hikaru continued and held Mina’s hand in his. “I can ensure that.” Kyoya finished. Mina giggled as her brother's mimicking game was cut short.
