Nao yawned as she slowly woke up. She stretched her arms and looked around as she laid there. She bolted up when she didn't recognized the room and clutched the covers in fear. Tan colored walls surrounded her and the room was warm, much warmer than what she was used to. She looked at herself finding she no longer wore her garments but instead wore a silky black nightdress.
"I suppose you're confused?" Nao jumped at the voice and turned finding a man standing in the darkest corner of the room by the door. He flicked the light switch beside him and got out of his chair to stand beside the bed.
"Who are you?" Nao asked.
She then looked over the robes that he wore and her eyes widened as she looked at the familiar robes and the familiar stance and features of him.
"Ar-Are you Gaara's? There's no way!"
"His father? Yes I am and yes I'm the Kazekage," he said as he took on the oh-so-familiar stance Gaara always had with his arms crossed over his chest and narrowed eyes.
Nao looked at him in disbelief.
"You are in the way of the plans we have for Konoha. Gaara is hesitant to kill you for some reason and we theorize that if you get hurt he might lose control..." he said as he glared. "You pose a threat against us when you are on your own even without the concern of Gaara. We don't need a threat nor do we want it with our plans."
"Then why am I here? If I'm so much of a threat, then why not just kill me?" Nao asked confused.
"We have kept you unconscious for the past two weeks. Many are looking for you, but I doubt they will actually find you or look this far Nao-himi."
With that the brown haired Kazekage walked out of the room leaving Nao to wonder what he meant with Gaara and why she had to be in a purposely induced coma. Nao got out of her bed hearing the door start to creak open. She pushed herself against the wall and stood there in fear knowing she had no weapons and no way to protect herself. Taijutsu had never been her strong point even if she was fast and she couldn't summon up her chakra.
An old woman came into the room and closed the door. Her beady eyes stared Nao down as the girl stood in the corner. She wasn't shaking anymore and the woman could see that even though she was weak at the moment, the girl would put up a fight until her last breath. The determination reminded her a lot of a woman that she knew long ago.
"Kurokano..."
Nao gasped at the name the old woman spoke. Ever since the accident, even her father wouldn't speak her name.
"How do you know of my mother?"
The old woman's eyes twinkled and for a moment, she didn't look old but young, as if many years had melted from the woman's features.
"Kurokano was a very special girl to me. She was like a granddaughter to me and was like a sister to my grandson when they were younger. You know Sasori right? Surely Kurokano told you of him?" The old woman said, a smile lighting up her face when Nao's eyes widened.
"Mother called him o-nii-san in her stories..." Nao said as she looked at the floor then laughed. "She always called him that even though she was older by a month. You're Chiyo-baa-san."
The two spent the next hour talking about Nao's mother. Nao's father never talked about her and she only knew her mother up until she died when Nao was six. It was nice to actually be able to speak of her mother. When speaking about her around Futoshi he would bust out crying because the memory was too much for him to bear.
"Out."
The two turned around finding the Kazekage in the open doorway of the room glaring at Nao. Chiyo frowned and said she had things to do anyway. He walked in the room and closed the door.
"I have someone that you might be familiar with..." he stated as he looked over towards the window beside her bed.
Nao looked over and flinched back finding a tall, dark haired, white skinned man standing beside the bed by her. She retreated to the other side of the bed as far as she could to get away from him.
"Stay away from me Orochimaru!" She yelled as she glared at the man.
The man let out a laugh that sounded like the hiss of a snake as he watched the girl. He smiled and made a seal with his right hand and she started writhing in pain. Nao put her hand on her right shoulder as she screamed from the scorching sensation across her skin and started to panic finding a seal of some sort start to make lines resembling fire along her skin.
"What seal is this?" She asked as she looked up at the man through almost closed eyes, tears streaming down her face
"That is a seal I put on you that drains your chakra..." Orochimaru cackled with a smile. "It will stay on you until the chuunin exams are over little one and is one of my own inventions."
Orochimaru put his hand down and Nao collapsed onto the bed. She panted and gave out a sigh of relief that the pain was over. The marks receded from her skin and she glared at the two men.
"Why are you doing this to me?" Nao asked as she wiped away the tears.
"Simple," the Kazekage stated," you are in the way of our plans."

"Where is she damn it?!" Daichi yelled as he threw the chair beside his bed. Nao still wasn't back
Nurses tried to restrain the normally emotionless teen but ended up not being able to do anything as he jumped out of the window. He started running as fast as he could away from everyone into the woods. Tears brimmed his eyes as he looked around searching for any sign of Nao's chakra. Futoshi jumped down beside him. He took off his mask allowing Daichi to see his tear streaked face.
"I miss her so much!" Daichi muttered, tears flowing down his face as he looked at the ground with his fists clenched. Futoshi frowned and opened his arms for the younger male. Daichi clutched his jounin vest as he cried and put his head on the elder's shoulder.
"I do too..." Futoshi whispered as he hugged Daichi. "...I do too..."
