Nao got done healing the child's bruise. The little girl gave her a hug then ran off down the hallway after her elder brother.
"Very good Nao," the head nurse stated with a soft smile.
Nao nodded and straightened the cherry blossom clip in her hair. She smiled softly feeling it and blushed remembering the feeling she had when Sasuke put it in for her. It was a sweet gesture that he had made intentionally, but she wasn't sure if he realized it or not. He was still so distant even after all the time they had spent together so far.
Nao shook her head with a sigh and went around to the other children. She played with them, healed their bruises, and they told her things they wouldn't tell the adults. They all played around happily without a care in the world. Some declared they were going to be ninja and others were just regular village children. Some were even in the academy already.
Soon it was time for Nao's shift to end. Since it was technically an interview of sorts to see what she was capable of at the moment, she could only stay for a few hours at the most. It was disappointing, but Nao was happy that she got to go home to see Sasuke and hopefully her two o-nii-san's, her big brothers.
Nao sighed as she walked out of the hospital. It had been a busy day of looking after the children of the hospital, but she was happy to have helped them feel more comfortable being there. She made her way down the road towards the gate. She had a feeling she needed to be there for some reason. She didn't question it because the feeling was bad. Something was going to happen and she knew she had to be there for some reason.
Nao looked around for something, anything, to tell her why she needed to be there. It was then she heard a soft groan and a whisper. Nao turned around to find no one there. She heard it again though and made her way to the gate. She cautiously looked around to find nothing and shook her head.
Something fell in front of her making her scream. She went to run when she saw a strand of red hair on the bloody body. Nao gasped as tears poured from her eyes.
"Futoshi! What happened?! Where's Daichi?" Nao screamed out, but he was out cold. She cried more and started to heal what she could as she screamed for help. Shikamaru appeared out of nowhere.
"Nao?! What happened to him?" Shikamaru asked in a worried voice.
She shook her head. She couldn't even get a word out with how hard she was crying. Soon enough people were all around them and the elder men took him to the hospital. Nao stayed in her spot as she cried into Shikamaru's shoulder. It was then Sasuke found them.
"What happened to her?" Sasuke asked. He was unsure of what to do. He had seen Nao cry before, but this was an entirely new level and he couldn't think of what could have made her cry so horribly.
Shikamaru explained what happened and how Nao found Futoshi. He understood perfectly why she was crying so horribly. It wouldn't be wise to tell her he had a mission in the morning then. It shouldn't take long hopefully so he could probably take her to the hospital to see Futoshi and figure out what happened.
"Come Nao," Sasuke demanded monotonously but in a gentle voice.
Nao looked to Sasuke as she clutched Shikamaru's shirt in his fists and flung herself at him as she cried even more.
"Where's Daichi?!" She cried, her voice muffled as she yelled it into his shirt.
He sighed and shook his head at Shikamaru seeing the confused and sad look on his normally bored face. Nao calmed down after a bit and they realized she had fallen asleep. Sasuke picked her up and started walking through town towards their place. Shikamaru walked up beside him with his hands in his pockets.

FanfictionThis is a love triangle story with Gaara and Sasuke. It will follow the time line but things will follow my OC most of the time and it will be slightly changed a bit to fit the story. I do NOT own the Naruto characters in any way. They all belong...
