001YOONGI sat atop the building, his head hung back and his face tilted towards the dark sky above. the clouds had already rolled in and the darkness was threatening to give away to rain at any moment. his legs were dangling off the edge of the roof, but he was careful not to sit too far forward.
he rolled his neck in a stretch and brought his arms up, reaching past his head. he heard something snap satisfyingly with the action and opened his eyes.
the city before him was bustling with life, even at an hour this late. yoongi didn't mind, however. the best time to feed was when it was late and his meal was slightly intoxicated.
the aroma of life itself swirled in the air as his hunger rose again. his eyes calculatingly darted across the scenes below him, watching people get in and out of taxis, stumble down the pathways, and loudly converse with each other. the nightclub he was sitting on was his favorite spot to go to when he needed to feed.
unfortunately, he wasn't here to eat. despite not having consumed anything in two days, the creature ignored his hallowing stomach and attempted to remain focused on his task.
still eyeing the sea of people outside the building, he concluded that if he waited all night in this spot to find what he was looking for, he'd explode from boredom.
yoongi growled in annoyance before pushing himself over the building. he didn't freefall, but quite nimbely landed onto the pavement with nothing but a gust of air and a soft thud of his feet.
he trailed the entrance in movements of grace that could only be compared to that of a cat. his posture was elegant and demanding of attention, even if no one could see him. what a pity, he thought, i look damn good right now.
though, he was still wearing his heavy, hooded coat that was dark like onyx, yoongi twirled his scythe in his hands as he walked up to unsuspecting people, hoping one of them was who he'd been searching for.
"i have absolutely no idea how you're the grim reaper." yoongi hadn't jumped, in fact, he wasn't surprised in the slightest when he heard the voice from beside him. "namjoon," yoongi greeted monotonously at his friend, paying little attention to the slight shade he was throwing.
"you aren't going to find the soul standing out here. maybe they're inside?" the other boy offered, still wondering how yoongi sucked so much at being the grim reaper. to him, this was bringing a new meaning to 'sucking at life'. namjoon questioned how one could be bad at what they were born into being.
"you just want to suck on some poor, unsuspecting mortal's neck." yoongi grumbled, not wanting to admit that he did feel dumb for not entering the club.
"i mean, of course. that is the only reason why i showed up." namjoon laughed, entering the building behind yoongi.
the atmosphere instantly brought a smile to both of their faces. namjoon loved to party, and yoongi loved to feed. lights strobed from the ceiling in illuminations of deep red, contrasting perfectly with the neon purple lights in the floors.
namjoon left to do his own thing, while yoongi slowly made his way through the mass of gyrating bodies. he passed several large, green, planted palm trees that he had no doubt contained piss in their pots.
he didn't doubt this because he's been one to do provide as such—on several occasions.
"soul-y, soul-y, soul-y," he purred under his breath, his voice deep, "where are you?" a smirk ghosted across his lips.
the thrill soon seeped in, taking place of the former annoyance. he knew was close to what he was looking for when the red, jeweled ring on his slender finger began to glow and hum lowly.
