007JIMIN had finally finished his afternoon dance class, and would soon have to arrive to teach his singing class in a few short hours. deciding to unwind for a bit and let his muscles relax, he entered a pretty large café down the street from his studio.
he'd only been to this spot a few times, but within the amount of times he's come here it had always been a pretty good experience. he didn't feel the need to write a bad yelp review on the staff nor the establishment; not that jimin was one of those people.
the bell above him chimed as he stepped through the door. the aroma of fresh food and warm drinks wafted around the room, instantly calming him. the layout was open and welcoming; there were floor to ceiling windows and high booths. tables sitting a maximum of six people were scattered strategically about the wooden floor.
jimin walked up to the counter and thankfully the last person in line had gotten their order when he began to approach. "hi, what can i get you?" the barista asked, oozing friendliness. it made jimin slightly uncomfortable, but he answered back as nicely as he could. "just a tall iced coffee and a croissant, please." his smile was radiating, which the barista's heart pounded harder at.
she nodded, and relayed his order to whomever was making the drinks. she proceeded to get his fresh croissant from where it sat in its glass tray, wrapping it in pale blue wax paper with darker blue lace.
as jimin waited for his coffee, he scanned the room looking for a place to sit. he didn't want to sit at a table being that he wanted to be comfortable since he planned on staying for a while. but he noticed most of the booths by the windows, which was where he wanted to sit, were occupied.
his eyes darted past a booth sitting a single person before he looked back to them. his entire being buzzed and he felt something jolt inside of him, almost as if he were being gravitated towards the boy.
jimin stared as the boy sipped on whatever was in his mug. the steam from it swirled in front of his face, catching the light from outside. the sun shining through the windows casted perfect shadows and highlights on key points of his features. jimin studied his features, admiring his high cheekbones and sharp, yet soft bone structure.
the boy's eyes that were previously fluttered closed, snapped up to jimin after setting his tea down.
"sir," luckily, the barista had called jimin in time for him to look away from the captivating person. "here's your iced coffee. please enjoy your food, thank you for coming." she smiled at him. he offered a wave with his departure.
he wasn't thinking clearly—at least that is what he told himself when he was suddenly standing at the end of the booth facing the boy with incredible cheek bones. "hello." the boy greeted first, not looking as awkward as jimin felt.
"uh, hi." jimin looked at the empty seat across from him. "can i sit with you, maybe?" he asked, already inching his items towards the spot. "of course!" the boy gave a wide, illuminating smile, and tapped the part of the table jimin was sliding into.
"my name is jimin, by the way, and thank you." he couldn't meet the other's gaze, knowing he'd probably stare in astonishment. "nice to meet you jimin," the other said, "i'm jung hoseok." he stuck his hand out for jimin to shake.
a sense of familiarity passed between them, which jimin couldn't help but notice. he felt odd at the fact, and began to question why so many strange things were beginning to occur in his life. "this might sound weird," jimin finally looked up at the other, "but i feel like i know you." he confessed. he cheeks that were always in a permanent blush of pink, darkened a shade.
hoseok laughed at the comment, "i'm told that often."
the two had instantly connected after sitting for a while, talking about random things ranging from what they were drinking to if they thought aliens were real.
"i'm pretty sure my friend is an alien, but he hates it when people call him that." jimin thought out loud, thinking of taehyung's face whenever the older would tease him.
"he's obviously an alien if he's getting defensive." hoseok whispered, looking around him like they were sharing top secret information.
jimin let a giggle escape between his lips. taehyung always made fun of how unmasculine jimin's giggle was, but the older always had to remind him that taehyung's giggle was just as childish and cute as his.
jimin and hoseok had exchanged numbers after about two hours of talking. admittedly, jimin would have stayed longer—he really liked talking to hoseok—but he still has to see his vocal class at three thirty.
