"WERE y'all fuckin'?"

"oh my god taehyung." hoseok shook his head, and put a hand to his heart dramatically.

jimin crinkled his nose in disgust, "no, that's disgusting, he's like a thousand years old."

"he's older than that." hoseok reminded, sticking a fry in his mouth. jimin gagged.

"how are you even eating people food?" taehyung asked, eyeing hoseok strangely. hoseok wasn't sure what he was asking though.

it was noon and jimin had invited taehyung out to a diner. he wanted it to just be the two of them, but taehyung insisted on seeing what hoseok looked like.

"what do you mean?" hoseok half heartedly asked, continuing to stick fries into his mouth like he had never tasted them before.

"don't you guys eat, like, ambrosia or some shit?" taehyung's eyes stayed glued to the angel's lips that were dusted with salt. he couldn't help but think that licking the salt right off was the best way to help the little angel out.

"i'm not a dog tae. i can eat whatever i want." the older rolled his eyes.

he had barely paid much attention to taehyung, really only coming to the diner in the first place because of jimin, the boy he's protecting.

jimin seemed to be lost in his thoughts as he sipped gingerly on his milkshake. he let taehyung and hoseok converse among themselves as he was dragged further into his mind. with the mention of yoongi, jimin's personal grim reaper and sort of friend, he immediately began to think of him.

he wondered just how old yoongi was. "older than you can count up to," his question was answered nonchalantly by the boy across from him. looking up startled, he watched hoseok eat with wide eyes. "i can read certain thoughts you have," he smiled. "don't worry about it too much. i don't get to choose when i want to read your chim-brain; it just happens." he further explained.

"so you were thinking about yoongi again?" taehyung dipped a fry in jimin's shake, who didn't mind, being that it was something that happened also. the younger also had a tendency to use jimin as his personal napkin.

before he could answer, however, taehyung continued babbling. "i know jungkook is a demon and all, but he can cook ribs for me anytime."

"i be he'd like to cook your ribs." jimin joked and nudged his shoulder into tae's.

"it'd be a privilege."

"what was he like?" hoseok's voice came out small, timid even. "the ribs?" tae asked innocently, to which jimin pinched the bridge of his nose with his index finger and thumb. "why would i refer to ribs as 'he'?" hoseok scrunched his face up in a mix between annoyance and repulse.

an embarrassed, deep giggle came from the boy in question. he hadn't really paid attention to what hoseok asked as he was still deep in thought about the ribs. "you know jungkook and namjoon, also?" jimin carried on the conversation.

hoseok beamed, his eyes gleaming, looking through jimin as he was in a memory of his own. "we were all pretty close, namjoon and yoongi a bit more dear to me than jungkookie, but—" the light in his eyes died down. he seemed to remember where he was, what he was saying, and who he was talking to.

he gave a nervous chuckle and shrugged his shoulders suddenly feeling uncomfortable. he didn't mind getting personal with jimin and he couldn't care less about taehyung, but he knew namjoon and yoongi are reserved about their past as a trio.

hoseok still cared enough to respect their secrets.
