JIMIN awoke in a new setting that he instantly assumed was the hospital. but as he slowly brought himself to a sitting position, he took note that he had no iv, there were no monitors or nurses, and he definitely was not lying in a hospital bed.

he remained calm, not wanting to trigger any alarms in the strange place he was in. for all he knew, he could've gotten kidnapped—which technically is what happened.

he examined his arms and legs, not noticing any visible wounds nor contusions. he brought his arms up and felt no pain in his ribs. he touched his head, that now only had a dull ache from the aftermath of violently crying.

he swung his legs off the bed and ran his hands over the black, silk sheets. the duvet he was previously underneath was black too, but the bottom of it was a deep red.

he scanned the the room with his eyes, not paying attention to the details, but trying to make out if he could hear any noise from the building. it was dead silent, and he grew nervous.

there were doors in the room, but he wasn't sure what led to the hall and what led to a closet. either way, he took his time when he stood—his legs gave way underneath him—but he was able to maintain his balance.

taking baby steps and feeling like a newborn fawn, he made his way over to one of the many doors. he gripped the cool knob in his hand and twisted it, but it was locked. he shuffled towards another door, hoping that not every one he attempted to open would be locked.

he also wondered what kind of house would have doors that locked from the outside, and if that wasn't the door leading to the hall, then what was behind it?

he opened another door and found that it led to a master bathroom. he stood in awe for a moment taking in the white marble with gold and silver detailing. he took a step inside and looked down at his feet as he noticed he was barefoot.

"you're quite nosey, aren't you?"

at the sound of a sudden voice, jimin squeaked and his body jumped in surprise. he almost turned to shut the bathroom door behind him, but noticed a boy not too much younger than him stood at the open door—the door leading out the room.

it wasn't the locked door, but that didn't matter right now. "i bet you have a lot of questions, don't you?" he asked another question, taking in the appearance of a startled jimin.

jimin made no motion to answer the other, but it wasn't to be stubborn, he just couldn't put any words together to form a coherent sentence.

the stranger laughed lightly, but jimin couldn't find what was so funny.

"i'm jungkook," the boy introduced himself and stepped further into the room, making his way to jimin. "your doctor." his hand was outstretched for him to shake, but jimin only glared at it.

"where am i?" his voice was hoarse and croaked from not speaking for a while. "somewhere safe," jungkook said, "well, safe enough. don't worry."

"i was–i was in an accident." jimin frowned, putting his hand up to his head again. he was immensely confused. he knew he got hurt, he had to have gotten hurt, but he had nothing evidently wrong with him.

he gasped and looked up at jungkook with frightened eyes, "where's taehyung?"

"elephant boy?" jungkook's lips twisted into a smile. "he's having dinner downstairs with my friends." he answered, searching jimin's eyes, for what, he didn't know.

jimin had the urge to push past jungkook and book it to taehyung's side, but he didn't. he didn't know how he got here, he didn't know why he wasn't hurt, and he didn't know if this jungkook character was dangerous.

but what he did know, was that he seemed to have trouble following him for whatever reason.

and that trouble was death in the personified form.
