003

JIMIN had nightmares that night. they were strange, and didn't make any sense when he'd wake up from them.

panting, with sweat drenched on his forehead, he decided sleep was something he didn't need at the moment. when he looked over at the clock, he saw that it was only five in the morning. jimin groaned in annoyance, wanting nothing more than to sleep for a few more hours.

he laid in bed desperately trying to recall what had him frantic enough to wake up, but he couldn't place what it was. however, splashed across his mind's eye, was the face of someone vaguely familiar. he couldn't pin point where he knew the person from, but he did know that they gave him a bad feeling.

he tossed onto his side still not daring to close his eyes. he chewed on his bottom lip and let his mind wander. after leaving the club with taehyung, he ended up back home in his bed. he knew he didn't have any drinks, so he wasn't sure why his memory had holes in it.

furthermore, he didn't know why they both left so early. jimin would've called taehyung to talk to him about this, but he knew his friend was probably sleeping much better than he was.

jimin groaned and flopped onto his back. he thrashed in his bed in utter annoyance and willed himself not to cry. he was so tired and he wanted to sleep, but he knew the nightmares would return.

he strung his small hands through his soft hair and tugged. he couldn't just lay in bed and wait for the sun to rise; he needed to do something to keep his mind occupied. he hated being bored. so with this, he threw himself off of his bed, landing on his wooden floor with bare feet. he switched on the lights and trudged into the bathroom with a yawn.

by the time he was washed up and presentable, it was six in the morning. thankful for the sun rising soon, he set out into his small kitchen and began to brew coffee. he leaned his elbows against the granite countertop and set his chin in between his palms. as he drummed his fingers against his cheeks, he wished he didn't live alone.

he would room with taehyung, but the younger boy always came up with excuses as to why they should live separately. jimin secretly thought taehyung didn't want to live with him, because he used to like the younger. jimin scoffed at the memory, those feelings had long since passed, tae didn't have to be so awkward about it.

when he heard his coffee finish making, jimin once again began to wonder where he knew the face of his nightmares from.

min yoongi was satisfied. he'd concealed himself from jimin's memories, making sure the younger boy forgot of his existence. however, he couldn't just leave without erasing himself completely. he made sure jimin's subconscious at least knew of the grim reaper. yoongi knew he'd appear in jimin's thoughts, even if it was only fleeting.

"that kid," namjoon snapped him from his thoughts, "taehyung." the demon rolled his eyes as well as his shoulders. yoongi snickered, knowing namjoon held little patience, and was annoyed by the slightest things; quite like himself. "what about him?" they were both sat in the living room of namjoon's home.

"he bit me." sneering, namjoon showed his bicep to yoongi that was marked red with blunt teeth marks.

yoongi laughed uncontrollably, much to his friend's annoyance. once calming down, he leaned back into the plush cushioning of the victorian-like seat. "i wish jimin bit me," he sighed thoughtfully.

he'd been ever so amused by the boy as soon as he dropped him off on the roof. granted, he paid little attention to his words and more to his prettily shaped mouth. "the things you say no longer surprise me." namjoon voiced, speaking more to himself than to the creature in front of him.

yoongi offered a pointy toothed smile that looked sinister despite whatever meaning it held. he rubbed at his stomach, upset that even after completing his final task, he hadn't eaten. "if you didn't spend so much time with that boy, you wouldn't be so hungry." namjoon heaved himself off the couch and brought a jar to yoongi's hands.

"this is why i cherish you." yoongi gave grateful nod and unscrewed the lid of the jar. "i thought you cherished me because we've been friends since you were human." namjoon chuckled darkly and returned to his seat.

namjoon knew his friend often ignored his hunger, whether or not it was intentional. so he always kept a jar of souls for the older to feast on if he ever gotten hungry. how he got them wasn't exactly by the book, but yoongi didn't care at the moment. usually, he'd have to punish those who didn't follow the rules when it came to handling souls. but after all, namjoon was an old friend who was looking out for him, so he'd let this slide.

yoongi inhaled the scent they gave off and licked his lips. he was hesitant only because he knew what might happen if he indulged. these souls were lost, and he wasn't sure if they had a purpose to go to heaven or hell or wherever else. he wasn't sure if they were even supposed to have died.

"yoongi, you can either eat now or wait until later tonight." namjoon told him, sounding caring like he always did. yoongi gulped, his fangs sinking into his lips and drawing blood. "i'll wait." his voice was strained.

"just know," namjoon was handed back the jar, "if you plan on seeing your little toy again, you might not be in the best condition." the demon's low voice was laced with amusement, making yoongi glare at him.

"i'm sure he tastes just as sweet as he looks." yoongi responded, lifting himself from the forest green seats and out of the building.
