chapter 44

Jace's POV
          I walk out of the Gucci store and head down the street to catch a cab. I get one and pull out my phone. I scroll through my emails and see one; Australia meeting. I email my manager and hear the cab driver saying I was at my apartment. I pay him and right when I get out of the cab I bump into someone. They drop their bags and I catch them. I look down and say 'Genevieve?' I push her back and whisper 'what are you doing in front of my apartment?' She grabs her bags and says 'have you seen Lina? I haven't talked to her in months.'~ I pick up my phone and I say 'sadly I don't know.' We got divorced remember?'- she looks down and says 'sorry, I forgot. But, you don't keep in touch with her?' I shake my head and I whisper 'come inside.' We enter my suite and I set down my bags.  looks at the pictures against the wall.- she takes one off. I look down at it and she says 'you miss them don't you.'- I nod. I take the picture ad put it back on the wall. I think to myself 'I would do anything to have my family back.' My phone rings and I pick it up; my manager. I talk to him and he says 'he's booked me a flight to Sydney; ad that it leaves in 4 hours.' I finish the call and say to Genevieve 'I'll call you when I know something about Bethany.'

** 4 hours later **
I get off the plane and go inside the airport. I grab my suitcase and I find my friend Mark. We call an uber and drive to our apartment. Right when I get into our apartment, Glory calls me. I answer and she says 'Jace! Beth is in Australia.'- I roll my eyes and say 'nice try Glory, but I'm not falling for that.' I look out the window and see all the lights from the city. I take a picture and post it; 🌒.
Lina's POV
I wave my wine and sip it. Blake puts his phone down and says 'baby, what wrong?'~ I shake my head. He lifts up my chin and whispers 'babe, talk to me.' I wrap my arms around his neck and I kiss his jawline. We make our way to our bed and I remove my arms. I grab my phone and I say 'I'm sad that we're leaving Australia in a week.' Blake nuzzles his mouth into my neck and whispers 'I know baby, but we have a family to take care of remember?'~ I turn to him and peck his lips. My phone buzzes; Genevieve. I answer; hey G, what's up? 'hey, where are you?' I furrow my eyebrows and says 'Blake and I came to visit his family in Australia.' I hear her laugh and she says 'really? Jace just left a few hours ago to Australia. For a meeting in guessing.'~ I sigh. We finish the call and I look at Blake. I cover my face with a pillow and scream into it. Blake pulls me into his arms and says 'Lina, please don't stress. I hate seeing you in an annoyed mood.'~ he kisses me. I smile and say 'hopefully we don't run into him.'
