Nami stirred up from her deep sleep as someone from the outside of her bedroom thought it was funny to keep pounding the door. Grunting in annoyance, she glanced at the clock that hung in the wall. It's already two o'clock in the morning.
"I need my precious sleep, damn it." She made a soliloquy. Nami assumed it was the kids, purposely knocking the door in the midnight, just to spite her. Oh, how she had been used to it. 'When you live in a orphanage, you have to expect some prank made by the other troublemaker kids,' she thought.
But, still. Even in her drowsy state, she still could stick to the logic. Those hooligan kids will only bugging her at least before their curfew. Nami slightly opposing the idea they had been not sleeping till now, just to disturb her sleep at this kind of timing. So...
The real question was; who is standing behind the door?
"Who are you?" she asked.
The never-ending knock didn't provide Nami with an accurate answer.
"If you don't have any business with me, please leave at once!" she bellowed, causing the knocking to come to its halt.
Here comes the sickening silence, giving Nami chills to the spines, but she shrugged the feeling away. Jeez, now she couldn't sleep anymore, thanks to the person who woke her up. She closed her eyes, hoping that she would fall asleep afterwards.
However, since Nami had a pair of sensitive ears, her sharp listening caught odd sounds, making her eyes widen in suprise.
It was the sound of the lock being picked. The sound of the knob when it was being turned, the creaking sound of the door when it was swung open, and then being closed and locked back...Oh, no. There was someone barging into her room. Nami closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep. The unknown person strolled towards her bed, his steps getting closer and closer, making her heart beat almost thumping out of the rib cage. She sensed the person was standing, right next to her bed, observing her 'sleeping' form.
"I know you're not asleep."
Nami mentally face-palmed. Of course this person wouldn't buy her obvious acting. She's the one who shouted earlier, it makes no sense for her to be asleep in such a short time. From the voice, she could make it out the gender...It was a man, and his deep and husky voice sounded unfamiliar. He's totally an outsider, not from this shabby orphanage.
Slowly, her eyes fluttered open, looking at the man, the dimmed moonlight that shone through the window next to her bed was the only thing that help her to see him in the total darkness. Her wild guess about him was beyond her expectation---At first, she imagined him to be a creepy old geezer, but what she saw was a complete opposite; the intruder was actually a handsome man in his early twenties, but his voice made he sounded like a heavy smoker, no kidding. Not that she care, though. The main concern of her was..."Who are you...?"
A taunting smirk playing on his lips. Still, it didn't gave her an accurate answer.
"Please..." Nami wanted to escape from the situation. "I don't know who are you, leave me alone." She pleaded. But it only caused him to let out a dark chuckle.
"Why are you telling me to leave, my dear, you make me feel a bit downcasted, since it was such a hassle to break through the annoying security of this orphanage, just to meet you."
He sat on the bedside, and then he bent down, his face was about an inch away from hers, earning a horrified gasp from her. Amused by her reaction, he pulled away, only to put some strands of her locks behind her ears. Nami was puzzled by his action, then let out a high-pitched yelp as he place a kiss on her neck, blush smeared furiously on her cheeks, and he continued to place another kiss on her shoulder.
Coming to her sense, Nami pushed him away, much to his dismay. Slightly irritated, he pinned her hands over her head using one hand, while his other hand scooped her waist, closing the gap between their clothed bodies. Nami squirmed, attempting to push him away again, but he didn't budge, and he began to nibble the skin, the place he kiss just now.
Using all of her strength, she rolled over, freeing her pinned hands, and yet freeing her away from his grip. "Stay away from me!" She barked, while placing her hand on the spot he just nibbled. "Yaah! W-What are you...!?"
If only she could yell for some help. But she knew better. It will cause him to be pissed more. Besides, the other 'souls' were heavy sleepers, they'll never come to give help.
A smug grin spread across his face. "Can't you tell? I'm marking you."
"But why...?"
"You're still gullible, after all..." His words trailed off, as he reaching for Nami, only to get his hand slapped away by her.
"Don't you dare to touch me!" She shot him a disgusted glare. Grabbing her pillow, she threw it towards him, making the pillow to hit his face.
He didn't flinched, even the slightest. The pillow was long forgotten after he put it aside. "I've been watching you for a long time, my dear. Since you was twelve, and that's when I first met you."
Nami blinked. Did they had met before? She couldn't recall anything about it.
His eyes hooded with such darkness. "I see. You didn't remember me. You are the one who reach for me when you was a naïve little girl...and now you are the one who pushed me away. Talk about cold treatment."The tone of his deep voice became lower than before, terrifying Nami a lot.
"I don't even know you..." Nami still being her persistent self, but deep inside her, she was horrified. Who knows what will this man do to her? Kill? That's the worst idea, yet the most possible things he may do. "Please, don't harm me..."
The sudden change of the atmosphere caused Nami to tremble. He became more menacing than ever. "I won't take you with me...for now. But when the time has come..." He leaned his face towards Nami, making the confused girl to retreat her head away from his abrupt leaning, avoiding their face from collided. His action was unpredictable.
"...You'll have to be prepared." He finished his words, his face still remained close to hers. After observing her defenseless form, he then stood up and made his way towards the door.
"W-Wait," she stuttered, obviously not according to her plan. He halted, then craned his neck to face her. "I didn't catch your name..." she told him.
His infamous smirk started to form, yet again. "The name is V, my dear."
Nami gave him a confused look. "V...?" That's an odd name. A single letter, seriously? It may be an alias. She want to ask another question, only to find V had left, the door already being closed.
Blinking her eyes owlishly, she tried to pretend the earlier assault was never happened in the first place. She yawned and laid down, hovering herself in her comfy blanket, desperately pushing herself to fall asleep and hoping she wouldn't doze off thorough every lessons tomorrow.
For now, Nami knew he would come back again, maybe more than to pay a little visit, sooner or later.
A/N : I'm sorry if it escalates too quickly, it's not according to what I've been plotting omo, and if V is not psycho enough, do tell me.\( ̄▽ ̄;)/
