"Sera! Sera can you hear me?" yelled Mike on the others line. He sounded tensed.
"Mike I can hear clearly, can you speak please... what's wrong?" I asked him.
The network must've been bad because now I could not hear him too.
I hanged up the phone so I could called him back."Hey....if you can hear me, there's an accident alongside Kibarani road. Be there and do your best remember first impression is very important," said Mike on the phone.
Immediately he cut the phone, I dropped it on the bed.
"What am I gonna do?" I asked myself looking around for anything useful, which was hard to find because I had no plan at all.
I rushed out of the house to go to that place but then I remembered I didn't actually need a car to go there.
I ran back into the house and I made myself appear on the site by just mentioning the name of that place in my thought which got me there in like 5secs. When I was there like 100m away from the site, I noticed I was still in my home clothes which was kinda funny. The only thing I can actually do now is CPR, if needed nothing else.
I didn't want anyone to know who I was so I appeared back home and took one of my masquerade masks and wore it.
At the site I moved closer and closer until I was close enough.
"Someone please help them, the roads aren't clear so the fire Bridget... these people inside are hurt!" said one of the women at the site.
I looked around and most of the people were now staring at me.
"Why are you here? You think this is a party?" asked one of the men.
They all turned to me and started laughing... I was so embarrassed but I knew I had my purpose to be there.
"How many people are in there?" I asked them ignoring what just happened.
"Who are you anyways... remove that mask....let's remove her mask!" Shouted the another one.
They all started cheering in response to what was said.
"Yes... yes... let's remove her mask!"
I looked around and I knew I stood no chance against all these people.
"Wait am here to save these people and I will do just that! If you have a problem with me deal with it later,, right now I need your help." I said to them pointing at the two cars that had been head to head with each other.
By now most of them had removed their phones and were taking a video of me... I did not mind because I had a mask on."Tell us what to do miss.." said one lady.
"Yes...tell us." Shouted the rest.
I knew I had got their attention.. rather a little late but not too late.
"So I will try and get in the vehicles and as I remove the victims one by one help me get them comfortable ok?" I said to them. They all replied positively.
It was a relieving feeling.I stood outside and and there was no way anyone could get in or out of the cars.
I did my thing and went into the car passing through them.
I could tell everyone outside was shocked by how I did that because of the loud murmuring that was going on outside. Their phones were lit with flashlights.
"Lady! Can you here me?" I asked the lady who was driving an old Land Rover.
She was unconscious and that wasn't a good sign.
Her head was knocked by the windscreen and some broken glasses could be spotted on her face.
I tried calling out to her fee more times and she showed signs of waking up.
"My... my... wh...at.. happ..... " she stammered trying to say few words she was in deep pain.
"Please don't say anything I'll get to you out of here. Hold on tight," I said to her kicking the door open so I can get her out.
I slip my left hand down her thighs and the other hand around her shoulders. I lift her up but she made a painful moan. She was hurt.
When I had her in my hands I carefully took her out and handed her to one of the people who had crowded.
I went back in to check if there was anyone else and before I got in a heard a baby's cry.
I went back in to look carefully again and I found a one year old baby still buckled up in his car seat crying in pain."Hey baby... don't worry you are going to be alright... am here to get you out of this place... don't cry," I said softly to the baby. He stopped crying for a min and stared confusingly at me then started crying again.
I didn't have time to unbuckle him up so I just carried them both outside...by this time the ambulance, the police and the press were already there."Lady can you identify yourself to us?" Asked one of the media people pointing a microphone at me to speak while the others did the video and pictures.
"No comment!" I simply said.
I rushed to the other car which was a mini bus that had over 10 passengers. Most of them were unconscious and others were crying out of pain.
I kicked the stuck door open and went in getting them out one by one.
After I was done and I was sure that they were all in good hands I pushed the wrecked vehicles aside so that the road can be clear.
I disappeared from their million eyes.I went back home and removed the mask feeling relieved to have done my first part successfully.
I looked at my phone and there were several missed calls from Mike.. I called him back."Hey Mike I did it...we did it!" I shouted over the phone.
"Yes Sera... you did it, you did your part now check the news for feedbacks," he said.
"And Social media too especially Facebook because so many people went live at the site and you are the topic," he added.
I quickly grabbed the remote controller to turn on the tv. The first thing that came up was Who is this mysterious girl?
I changed from channel to channel and I was all over the news. It was pretty exciting.
"Viewers let's hear what that our eye witnesses have to say about this incident," said the reporter who was still at the site."This lady is a sorcerer and we don't need sorcerers in our country," yelled one man in front of the camera.
"I was there before she came and all of us were helpless we couldn't help those involved in the accident, she came in from no where and saved them all... I don't care who or what she is all I know is that she's a hero," said a woman in hijab.
There was mixed reactions but the good thing is, most of them thought I did a great job.
