i was on a walk through central park with lucas when i get a call.
"hello,"i say casually
"hi, are you maya hunter. daughter of shawn and katy hunter," the person on the phone asks.
"yes that is i," i say.
"well, katy fell down some stairs and broke her arm. she is currently in hospital," the lady says.
"okay i'm on my way," i sat as i hang up that phone.
"who was that," lucas asks.
"hospital," i say.
"who ins hospital," lucas asks with concern.
"mom, she fell down some stairs and broke her arm," i sat with a frown.
"let's go then," lucas says.

we get to lucas' car and drive to the hospital and when we get to the front desk i ask, "where is katy hunters room."
"are you family," the man at
the front desk says in a monotone voice.
"yes," i say worried.
"room 351. 4th floor," he says looking back down at his computer.

i run to the elevator and then once on the forth floor to her room. when i enter i see my mom. she has a cast on her arm and is fully conscious.
"mom, what happened," i say.
"i just fell down some stairs and broke my arm baby girl," mom says smiling.
"well how can i help," i say beaming.
"well with a broken arm i can't do any work at the bakery for 6 weeks they said," mom says.
"then i'll work and the pay can go towards everything," i say.
"money isn't a concern maya," she says.
"why do i have to work them," i say.
"well, i need you to keep the bakery up and running. you can keep the money maya, shawn earns enough. i work at the bakery because i enjoy it not because we need it," mom says.
"i love you mom," i say.
"love you too baby girl," mom says.

-1week later-

it was closing time at the bakery and i saw lucas walk in.
"hey," i say wiping a table.
"hey maya," he says with a smile.
i put my cloth down and look at lucas. i couldn't do it to him anymore.
"lucas we need to talk," i sat with a frown.
"yeah. what's up," lucas says sitting at our regular seat.
i sit next to him and say, "it's so hard to do this lucas but i think we need a break. i mean we are going great but right now it's just too much for me and i don't want you to have to have a girlfriend who is never there."
"i didn't want to admit it but i was thinking the same thing it's just too much on you. i'm sorry," lucas says getting up.
"lucas wait," i say in tears.
"what," he says turning around.
when he faces my i kiss him. with passion. with love.
"let's think of it as a see you later," i say as our tears stream down my face.
"well. see you later," lucas says as he walks out of the bakery.

i walk to the table that i left the cloth on and keep wiping as a strong flow of tears fall from my eyes.

that night i walk home in the rain. normally i would ask lucas for a lift but i'm sure he hates me right now. while it rains i forget that i am crying as i have water and tears running down my face.

"i'm home," i say gloomily.
i get no response so i go to the kitchen and see a note on the counter.
i'm at doctors and don't know how long i'll be and dad is working late. love you babygirl.

i sigh and put the note down. i grab a muffin from the fridge and eat it as i walk to my room.

i plop down on my bed and look out my window.

a/n so long time no update. okay it was 3 days ago but for me that a long time especially on this book. i have been so busy the past few days plus i started a me tv show. teen wolf. it actually slays my existence.
