Arnell and August rode around all day looking for houses. There were a couple of them that caught her eye. Like the second house they viewed , it was an enormous four bedroom and three bath. Arnell didn't understand why her brother wanted so much space if he was going to be the only one living there.

They were now on their way home after looking at seven houses. August still wasn't sure what he wanted.

"Who you fighting, man?" August said out of the blue. He turned down the music that was blasting so he could hear her response.

"Mercedes." Arnell quietly responded.

She wasn't proud of it and she felt like she let everyone down. She never got into a fight even though pretty much everyone in her family has been in one.

"Damn, I remember her. She used to always fuck with you." August replied.

Arnell remembered she used to come home crying to August almost every day because of something Mercedes did. August would always tell Arnell to fight her, but she never thought that was the answer.

"That's Meech sister, right?" August asked.

Arnell feebly nodded her head and looked out of the window. She wanted to avoid any conversation involving Damitri.

"He ain't been fuckin' wit you, has he?"

Arnell shook her head no.

"Aight, just checking. The way Meech acted back in the day, I know he ain't change. Let me know if there's a problem."

August pulled in to the drive way and cut the car off. Arnell helped bring in the groceries August had bought while they were out. It was the most food Arnell has seen in the house since she moved in with April. She was always wasting money on Thomas.

"Ant!" August called out.

"Yeah?!" He responded.

"Come help put these groceries up!"

A few seconds later, Anthony was jogging down the stairs with Jay right behind him.

"Hey, Nell." Jay greeted. Anthony just strolled right past them to the door.

"Hi, Jay."

"Wassup, August. I ain't seen you in a minute." Jay remarked dapping August up.

"I know man, what you been up to?"

"Shit, School and basketball."

"That's good man, keep it that way."

Anthony busted inside of the house with about ten bags in each hand.

"Uh... Y'all done talkin'? There's still hella bags out there."

Jay chuckled and jogged outside to help.

Arnell was neatly fixing the groceries and putting everything where it goes. She knew if one of the boys did it, it would be unorganized and chaotic.

"August, man. Why you get so many damn groceries?"

"You like to eat don't you?? Quit asking dumb ass questions and mosey yo ass back to the car to get the rest of the groceries." August shot back handed Arnell a bag full of freezer food.
