Arnell and Jada was chilling in the living room watching reruns of the show House. Arnell was laid out on the couch, two seconds from dozing off.

"Wanna tell me what happened?" Jada questioned.

Arnell slowly sat up and looked at Jada. Her face had a genuine concerned look on it. Arnell was in the middle of spilling her heart out to her best friend, when her phone lit up.

"What happened?!"

"Your sister kicked me out." Arnell simply replied picking at her nails.

"What you mean?" August asked.

"Exactly what I said."

"Well, where you stayin'?"

Arnell rolled her eyes. "With Jada."

The line fell silent. Arnell wanted to tell her brother what happened, but she couldn't bring herself to.

"August, I gotta go. I'm about to go home to get my clothes."

"I'll take you." August insisted.

"You don't have to do-"

"Be there in twenty." August interrupted. And with that, he hung up.

Arnell just sat there, staring at her phone screen.

"What's wrong?" Jada asked.

"This nigga hung up on me." Arnell replied shocked.

Arnell did not want to see August. She already knew he was going to have a billion questions. Although, she would love to see August beat the living shit out of Thomas, she was too over drama. She decided not to tell August about what Thomas tried to do. It would just add more fuel to the fire of her fucked up life.

Arnell was putting on her shoes when someone began knocking on the door. Jada opened the door to see who it was.

"August here."

"I should be back in like an hour." She told Jada.

Arnell made her way to the passenger side and got into the car.

"You should come stay with me." August blurted out before even backing out of the driveway.

"It's fine, I'll stay with Jada."

"I don't like Jada, she seems off."

Arnell furrowed her eyebrows. "Where is this coming from? Jada's my friend."

"You sure about that?" August questioned.

Arnell rolled her eyes. She didn't talk to him the rest of the drive. He was already pissing her off.

Arnell waited while August got out the car and opened the door. She walked to her room and examined the door frame that was still broken. She tiptoed to her closet and pulled out two large suitcases. She sat them on the bed and unzipped them.
