Trigger Warning⚠️: Sex

Saturday

Eve's POV

I couldn't sleep at all, the image of the market seller getting shot haunted me. I got up from my bed and went to the bathroom.

This shower felt as long as yesterday's shower. I subconsciously scrubbing myself as if her blood still stained my skin. I needed to get it off.

I opened my eyes and realised that there was no blood anywhere on my body. I immediately got out of the shower. I got my towel and wiped my body. I wrapped it around my body.

I went to look at myself in the mirror. My eyes had bags under them and I looked like I had lost some weight. I sighed as I walked into the bedroom.

I heard a heavy and urgent knock at my door. I got my robe and wore it.

I walked to the door and opened it. Jerry was standing with a frightened look.

"I was getting changed, Jerry. What's your problem? " I said in an irritated voice.

"I just needed to see that you're ok after yesterday. But it doesn't matter anyway since you seemed pissed with me being here." He said, frustrated.

I sighed and moved out of the doorway. I gestured him to come in.

He reluctantly moved past me into the living quarters. We both sat down, next to each other.

"I feel like shit but thanks for asking, Jerry. I guess you aren't so bad." I said, chuckling slightly.

He laughed as well and nudged me playfully.

" How bad did you think I was?" He said flirtatiously. I looked at him and he winked at me.

"Don't get any ideas ok, Jerry," I replied, getting and going to my bedroom.

" I really need to get changed so you can let yourself out, Jerry. I'll talk to you later." I said, closing my bedroom door.

" Ok, but we need to talk about what we're going to do about yesterday." He said, coming by my bedroom door.

"We throw another curveball, Jerry. I will confront him alone, it will make him comfortable enough to say something useful. " I said, putting my dress on.

"But it's too dangerous, Eve. What if he gets violent because of the confrontation?" He said, concerned with my well being. I put my hair in a high puff ponytail and went to open my door. Jerry was leaning on the door frame, with a look of worry on his face.

" Jerry, our lives may be at stake. I need to know what's going on in the safest way possible. This is the only way that he will be most relaxed to say something." I said, leaning against the door frame, standing opposite of Jerry.

" Fine, be careful please." He said. He unexpectedly hugged me and I hugged him back.

Later that day...

I knocked on Marco's door, fearful of what could happen when I confronted him.Marco opened the door, smiling smugly as I walked in.

"Came for another round, Eva? I'm blushing." He said, confidently. His hair was slicked back and his abs were glistening as if he had just exercised. He was wearing gym shorts with Nike trainers.

" No, I'm not here for that. I'm here for something else, something troubling if I have to be specific." I said, sitting on the sofa while crossing my arms. I looked at him as he came to sit across me, frowning in confusion.
