Velocity

Chapter 9

I woke up with a blinding pain in my head. My eyes saw nothing but blurry shapes and lights, my eyes trying to focus. I tried to move my arms but they seemed to have been tied together. I continued to struggle as my vision started to focus and saw where I was being held captive.

The room look liked a small warehouse,(of course it had to be a warehouse.) a bright light shone on my face. Steel beams stood on the sides like thin, metal pillars. I could see the large metal entrance locked tight. 

The blinding light distracted my gaze as it swung to and fro like a hypnotist's watch. My face felt beaten and bruised, I felt blood trickle down my cheek and into my shirt, my whole body felt sore like it had been punched and kicked several times and unfortunately my healing didn't seem to help with the pain.

I continued to struggle with my bonds but I was too injured and exhausted to even move fast enough to phase through, I felt helpless in my current situation as my powers seemed to have drained away along with my energy.

Just then, two men stepped into the room and into the light. One of the men wore a dirty leather jacket and an even dirtier shirt with jeans that looked like it got ran over by a truck, his face was even worse, his long brown hair was messy and seemed to have different types of junk and wrappers stuck in it, his eyes glowed with the fiery intention of murder. He smiled at me with cracked and missing teeth, seriously this guy needs to go to a dentist. He started laughing, "Hey there pipsqueak 'member me." 

The man leaned forward showing me even more of his disgusting face. Then I had remembered. The moment I got my powers, These guys were the muggers but why? Why would they kidnap me? Thoughts ran through about the possibilities of me being captured until the man answered it for me. 

"You may be wondering, why?" he said as he paced the room back and forth, "Well, you see, we got contacted by this mysterious man who offered a lot of cash to get you, now don't get me wrong. I would love to gut you like a fish right now but sadly the man wants you alive, so me and my cohort here, have orders to take you alive." he gestured to the man standing beside him. The man handed him a bat. "Oh, by the way, tell our client, Francis sends his regards," Francis said as he hit me in the head with the bat and sent me back into the pit of darkness.

 Shores of Lockstone City

Captain Davis Montauk gasped and gagged as he felt his body touched the sand. "Where *cough* am I." he said as he stood up shakily and walked towards the main city. Once he had reached Manhattan he gasped "I did it!" he exclaimed realizing that he has reached the land of his dreams, the city of the future.
