I loved him.
Three little words that had Ember jumping up and running to find him. So she runs and runs and runs until she's gasping for air as her lungs struggle to get good air flow through them. She felt like the little piece of that has been missing for seems like forever has been found and now she doesn't feel like she's somewhat complete. Now all she needs is to get all of her memories back somehow.
Ember keeps running until a hard body stops her and she almost falls. She squeezes her eyes shut tightly waiting for impact but instead she's pulled back into the body she bumped into.
"You need to be more careful Em." That voice, that cursed voice that been ringing through her head for weeks speaks to her.
She hesitantly brings her eyes to meet his.
"Hey Blake." She replied putting on a small smile.
"Hey, decided to run a marathon or something?" The other teen asked trying to stifle a chuckle. With a small stutter in her voice she's replies "Actually, I was looking for you." She paused waiting for something from him what she was looking for she had no idea.
He blinked once then twice and asked why. Blake wasn't expecting her to come up to him and openly say she wanted talk. After a small pause he finally looked at them girl in front of him.
"Oh uh what about?"
"Can we maybe go somewhere else?" Ember muttered so quietly Blake wasn't sure if he had heard her right. But nonetheless he nodded and told her to follow him.

After about ten to twenty minutes of walking he stopped and sat down beneath the tree. He patted the spot next to him as an invite for her to sit next to him.
"So tell me what's got your pretty little head in a spin?"
Ember goes to open her mouth to speak but nothing comes out, she closes it tightly and just looks at him. She analyzed his face and how his cheekbones are high and level. Scanning over his face more she wondered how she never realized how his eyes were a beautiful forest green. She then looks at his hair and how even though his hair is unruly and shaggy that it still fits him.
After she feels calm enough she looks at him asks what has been on her mind since she came to this revelation.
"What are we?" He stares back her with shock and what Ember thinks is a hint of sadness.

It's been a week since Ember asked Blake, it's been a week and he still hasn't answered her, mainly because he doesn't know himself. Were they ever dating, did a thing happen between them, were they really that close to even be considered as a couple. He didn't know, so that day he avoided the question as best he could and went about the day like nothing happened. But a week later and Ember was getting antsy and honestly so is Blake. He's tossed and turned the last couple nights trying to come up with an answer for her but he simply couldn't find one for the life of him.
Getting up the next morning was hell for the both of them. Having only slept two hours really is taking a toll on them. Ember felt embarrassed for asking what they were so she did the only logical thing she could come with, she avoided Blake like the plague. Blake on the other hand felt horrible he didn't answer her, he finally figured out how to answer her and now she won't even look in his direction. Should've seen it comin' honestly. He thought to himself. Hopefully however, they both get the guts to talk to each other.

Another three days pass by and neither have made an effort to talk about what happened a week ago. Don't get them wrong they do, it's just, they don't know how to approach each other.
Blake looks up to see Ember walking by with her head down and hair tucked into her hood. Not wasting another moment Blake jogs after her.
"Ember! Ember wait, please!" She stops and turns around. The dark circles under her eyes don't go unnoticed by the boy but he chooses to ignore it for now. "Can we talk.?" A small pause and a faint please could be heard. Not trusting her words she nodded and walked away, getting the hint the other teen followed her.
"What do you want to talk about?" Ember kept her head down and avoided eye contact as best she could.
"What are we? That's what you want to know right.?" Ember nodded slowly lifting her head to look at him, she noticed how tired he looks but chooses to not worry about it right now; she just wants to know what they are or were. Blake shifts his gaze down for a moment before speaking again.

"We were best friends, at the beginning of the year. About four or five months ago we had a really big fight and we parted ways; we didn't speak to each other for about three weeks. We talked about what happened and I went home. That night after I left, you had fallen and hit your head pretty badly, no-one knew what happened to you. " He paused taking a look at Embers reaction, nothing bad so far, so that's a good thing. She looked confused but was following along  nonetheless. After making sure she wasn't going to walk away he continued.

"You had amnesia, and at first I was happy because that meant that we could start over and I couldn't hurt you like I did again. So when you started talking to me again I was scared you'd remember what I had done. And I'm sorry for being such an ass to you when we had our project I was just scared." Lies, that's all he was telling her. Just fabrications of the truth he would never tell her again; not when her life is at risk still.

She stood there just looking at him, searching for anything that could possibly tell her he wasn't who he said he was. When she didn't fond anything she spoke, "It's ok, in all honesty I probably  would've done the same thing, not to sound rude but I would." Once those words left her mouth Blake felt his body sag in relief and he blew out a puff of air he didn't realize he was holding. He nodded with a small smile on his face. Blake looked back up and realized how Blue her eyes really are, his eyes flicked down to her lips and he looked back up at her. Before he could do anything he backed up and smiled at her.

"So does this mean we start hanging out more?" She asked looking at him with a smile displayed on her face. Without answering Blake just nodded and swung his arm over her shoulders and started walking to his house.
