The girls' outfits are above.

Katelyn's POV
I opened my squinty eyes and slammed my hand down on my phone repeatedly to turn off that hella annoying alarm. Monday. My least favorite day! Saturday's my favorite. Saturday's game day at the park; every week, that isn't in season, we play a game on the old basketball court. It's my favorite part of the whole week, especially since I get to see my friends from my old school, that I switched from to Freshwater last year.

I'm off topic, though. At least today we have basketball tryouts at school. I stood up quickly to stretch and groggily walked over to my dresser. I opened my top drawer and found my favorite shirt, it's a lightweight gray tank with the word 'Heartbreaker' on it. With it I paired my light brown shorts and a silver bracelet. Because why not? The only hearts I break are ones that belong to boys. I'm more into girls. I walked down the hall into my bathroom to brush my teeth then tiptoed down the stairs silently to get a muffin for breakfast. I didn't waste any time or effort to get out the door fast and unnoticed. I do not like to have full on conversations. I mean with my family I'm cool, but random strangers? No, just no. I grabbed a muffin and rushed out the door to catch the bus. When I finally found my seat by the window, I stuck my headphones in and made sure not to engage in any human contact. I peeked out the window, admiring the blustery October sky.

I got to school and nearly tripped on my way off the bus, I kept my eyes on the ground and quickly walked through the front door and into the cafeteria. I passed by a wall of lockers and heard some girls talking about basketball tryouts this afternoon. 'Maybe that'll bring me out of my shell.' I thought to myself as I sat at a table and took my phone out to play a game. Hopefully I can get through today without being noticed.

Audrey's POV

'Ughhh, do I have the get up today? Can't I just stay in bed and contemplate everything?' With a groan, I get up and walk downstairs. Mondays suck, but today I have basketball tryouts. I'm going to be shooting for the third year in the row. Not to brag but I'm pretty good at basketball. Looking back at the clock I see that is 7:30.
"Crap, I'm going to be late for school if I don't hurry," I say out loud. I throw on my white jacket and rush out the door. I hop into my car and start it up. I turn my radio on and listen to the music as I'm driving.

I walk into the front doors of the high school to see the halls and cafeteria crowded with students. I head over to my group of friends who are chilling by the lockers
"There you are!" I heard someone from the group call out. I smiled and said,
"Yeah, traffic was slow this morning."
"We didn't think you were going to make it," my friend Riley said with a laugh.
Before I had time to reply, someone came up behind me and put their arm around me.
"I'm guessing you'll be going to tryouts after school?"
Realizing the voice belonged to my friend James, I turned to him and said, "Nah, I think I'm going to skip this season. Of course I'm going to tryouts!" I playfully punched him on the shoulder .
"We'll make the team. We're the coaches' favorites," Riley stated in a matter-of-fact voice.
"That's true," I agreed.
The bell rang signaling that it was time for us to head to class. Our group of friends parted and headed to our different classes.

Katelyn's POV

I got through most of the day with no one looking or talking to me, except for my friend Sophie. So the day was pretty uneventful. We, luckily, have most classes together, so when we have group projects she can do the talking. Thank God for Sophie. Anyway, Sophie had something to do after school so she couldn't come to tryouts, that means I was all alone.

I stayed after school and walked very swiftly to the gym with my backpack on my back and gym bag in my hand. I slowly slipped through the door and went into the locker room to change. 'Thank goodness, no one else is here yet.' I thought as I peeked into a changing stall, tossing my bag on the bench. I walked in and closed the curtain behind me. I opened my bag quickly so I wouldn't be heard too much, and so I could get finished before the rest of the girls got here. Once I was changed into my small shorts and a workout tank, I came out of the stall and went out the locker room door into the gym to wait.
"Sign in over there." I heard a voice say from my left. I looked over to see the female coach, Mrs. Howell.
"Oh, thank you." I mumbled. She nodded her head and directed me to the clipboard with the sign in sheet. I walked over and thought, 'I hope I can get through this, and make the team as well.'
